At the start of the episode, we see the aftermath of a car wreck. One man walks away from. He is bloody and banged up. After the intro, Daniel (Ioan Gruffudd) receives a call from Maxine (Robyn Malcolm). He is told that he will be traveling with Fairly (Darren Gilshenan) to the Euralla Creek. Daniel meets up with her. He lets her know that he doesn’t want to go. Daniel and Lyle arrive. Lyle tells Daniel that he should choose his clever marks a little better around here. Lyle gets the car and they drive off moments later.

Soon, Daniel learns that the locals love Lyle. He is from Euralla Creek. They arrive at the crash site. The sergeant in charge is Lyle’s little brother. Daniel is introduced to Colin (Christopher Morris). Lyle and his brother chat about Grace. They learn that the victims include Bob and Diane. They ran the local bakery and everyone knows them. Bob survived. Diane didn’t. They find that one of the drivers had been drinking. They also discover a severed fingertip. Lyle catches up with Beverly (Sally McKenzie) at the hospital. Beverly isn’t too impressed with Daniel.

Daniel likes Edwina (Faustina Agolley) because she doesn’t know anything about Lyle. They are unable to find a corpse with a missing fingertip. Lyle believes that one victim was scratched with fingernails days before his death. Maxine lets Fern (Ella Newton) use Daniel’s computer. She guesses his password pretty easily. Fern digs into Ross Moran’s case. She finds out that her father thought Ross was connected to Simon somehow. Daniel works alongside Edwina and Lyle. Bob isn’t missing a fingertip. This leads them to believe that a fourth person was involved in the accident.

The finger has been frozen. Grace (Jolene Anderson) speaks with Maxine about Simon’s autopsy and Daniel questioning everything. Maxine asks her why she didn’t speak with Simon’s sister. Maxine reminds her that the autopsies are done for the sake of the living. She says that Harrow was wrong to challenge her. However, it is just the way he was dealing with his grief. Fern tells Callan (Hunter Page-Lochard) about Moran and Simon. He pleads with her to not go after the chemist. She agrees not to. Stephanie (Anna Lise Phillips) watches them from a distance.

Colin tells Daniel that they’re searching Ethan’s house. He believes that Ethan might have hid the body. Daniel checks the bakery van again. Then, we learn that Bob (James Lugton) will most likely recover. Lyle offers to tell him about Diane. She doctor agrees to let him do it. Daniel tries to find out why everyone loves Lyle. He can’t get answers from Fairly himself. Lyle gets upset and tells Daniel that he ruins people. He is worried about Grace. Daniel gets out of the car and walks off. Stephanie stops Fern from confronting the chemist. Stephanie believes that Daniel might be wrong about things this time.

Daniel heads to the pub. He learns that Fairly rescued some boys from a fire. However, one child died. Fairly hasn’t been able to accept that. Daniel discovers something while watching a woman try to warm her hands. He meets with Edwina and checks out the fingertip again. He finds out that the blood was still circulating when the tip was frozen. Daniel tells Colin that the person was alive but suffering from frostbite. It is confirmed that another person was in Bob and Diane’s vehicle. Daniel wonders if the person was trying to escape and severed their finger on the broken glass. Daniel checks the seat belt again. He finds blood on the seat and cuts it out.

Daniel decides to test the blood to see if the woman was pregnant. Soon, Beverly brings in an envelope containing contraceptives. Diane wouldn’t need them. The other woman must’ve been taking them. Diane wasn’t pregnant. Lyle visits the cemetery. Ruth confronts him. She asks why he didn’t come to Diane’s service. He wanted to but just couldn’t. Daniel calls Lyle and tells him that the woman’s water broke during the crash and she must have wandered off. Daniel heads to Bob and Diane’s house. He finds a door with many locks on it. He suspects someone was kept there. He finds that the woman had been storing the contraceptives.

She wasn’t taking them. Then, he finds an open storage container. The woman was likely kept there. Daniel finds out that the woman cut off her fingertip when trying to escape. Bob sneaks up and attacks Daniel. Then, he locks him inside. Daniel tries to convince him to set him free but Bob refuses. Daniel accuses Bob of keeping the girl locked up and using her as a sex slave. Bob found the woman on the road and picked her up. She caused the wreck. Daniel attempts to escape before he freezes to death. Bob prepares to flee. Daniel shuts down the power. Lyle arrives and lets him out. Bob confronts them with a gun. Lyle brings down Bob very easy.

Colin is called and Bob is taken to jail. Colin needs them. They arrive and find the pregnant woman. The woman’s name is Kyra. Lyle is tasked with delivering the baby. Daniel helps. Everything goes well. Kyra tells them about hitchhiking and getting picked up by the couple. Kyra fought back every day in hopes of getting out. Daniel and Lyle say goodbye to everyone. Edwina and Daniel learn they have something in common. They like solving puzzles. Daniel and Lyle wait for the airplane. Lyle apologizes for what he said the following day. Daniel blames himself for Simon’s death. Lyle admits he loves and hates this place mainly because of the fire. Lyle tells Daniel what happened and why he blames himself.

They learn that they’re going to be required to drive back. Next, we jump over to Tim Markides (Anthony Standish). Fern confronts him in his house. She accuses him of planting the fentanyl in her apartment. She asks him if he killed Ross. Tim didn’t know. He says he needs to get out of here. He didn’t know what someone was going to do with the drugs. Daniel finally makes it back to Grace. They chat on the rooftop. He tells her that he hung up on her because Lyle heard everything. Daniel believes he was wrong about Simon’s death. Daniel admits he believes he ruins people. He doesn’t want to do that to Grace. She says she can take care of herself. Daniel doesn’t believe it. Daniel’s phone rings.

Maxine tells him to come to his office. She asks how many people he told about Chester. She tells him about Fern looking at the files on Ross and Simon. Maxine encourages him to let it go before someone else gets hurt. Francis (Grant Bowler) takes care of Tim. Francis burns him alive.

 

Harrow Review

This was a pretty good episode of Harrow. I guess the writers are going to use Lyle to fill the void left by Simon’s death. The mystery surrounding the car accident was pretty interesting. More importantly, Fern found out that she was right about Tim and Ross. Francis has taken care of the Tim problem though. It seems that everyone connected to him has died. It will be interesting to see how Daniel brings him down in the end.
