As the episode begins, Fern (Ella Newton) attends a party. We see that she is selling Billie’s drugs. Xantia Couttas (Candice Hill) is seen exiting the party. Grace Mulgrew (Kate Boladian) buys drugs from Fern. Xantia visits a locker and continues on. Then, she is attacked from behind. Grace goes bonkers and jumps out of the window. After the intro, Daniel (Ioan Gruffudd) gets a call from Soroya (Mirrah Foulkes). He meets with her at the club. Daniel’s old pal Jill McCloud (Tasneem Roc) and Nichols (Damien Garvey) are there as well. Daniel learns about the woman’s overdose. He goes against Nichols’ wishes and cuts the body open without permission in hopes of saving another victim. Meanwhile, Fern tells Callan (Hunter Page-Lochard) about her troubles. Daniel speaks with Pete at the hospital. He learns that the other victim isn’t doing so well.
Daniel suggests that she might be suffering from long QT syndrome. Pete promises to look into it. Nichols shows Daniel a picture taken from outside of the club. It shows his vehicle at the club. Daniel denies it. Meanwhile, Fern flushes the rest of the pills. She receives a call from Daniel. She mentions the dead girl. Fern promises that she okay. Fern tells Callan that they need to speak with Billie (Ilai Swindells). Stephanie’s (Anna Lise Phillips) vehicle gets repossessed. Simon (Remy Hii) and Daniel check out Xantia’s body. They find soil lodged in her throat. Fern visits Billie. She finds him overdosed on the ground. She calls for help, takes the pills and disappears. Maxine (Robyn Malcolm) reprimands Harrow for cutting on the body outside of the club. Then, she suggests cremating the river bones. Daniel speaks with Soroya about their mistake.
Then, Daniel speaks with McCloud. She tells him that she wants to speak with Fern. He then meets Fern. She gives him the drugs. Daniel takes Fairly’s (Darren Gilshenan) vehicle. He calls Steph and tells her not to give the cops Fern’s number. He takes some of the pills to Pete and gives the rest to Nichols and McCloud. They visit Billie at the hospital. They agree to check out his recent calls. Daniel speaks with Steph about Fern’s current situation. He insists that it is a big misunderstanding. Fairly tells Soroya that he would have waited for the corner. He also tells Soroya that Daniel dropped out of school. Hannah is saved thanks to Fern turning in the drugs. Soroya visits Daniel.
They chat about their pasts. One thing leads to another and they wind up sleeping together. McCloud and Nichols manage to track the phone to Callan. When they visit his house, they take Fern into custody. Simon calls Daniel in the morning and tells him about the river bones. Then, Soroya calls and tells him about Fern. Daniel speaks with Nichols, but doesn’t get anywhere. Then, he speaks with Fern. He promises that he’ll get her out of jail. Simon speaks with Daniel about it at the office. They turn their attention to Xantia. Daniel thinks it is weird that she had lubricant on her hands. Soroya checks out the scene again. She finds a glass with lipstick on it discarded outside. Simon and Harrow visit the spot where Xantia was found. They look around and find the lockers. Lubricant has been used on it recently.
Daniel learns about the glass as well. The police arrive and open the locker. Tons of drugs are found inside of a purse. The same red drugs are found as well. They find a voicemail on Xantia’s phone. It is from Billie complaining about the pills and threatening to kill her. They rush to the hospital, but Billie makes a run for it. He is eventually run down by a truck. Fern is released from jail. When Daniel returns home, he finds his vehicle returned. Steph calls and asks about the old sleeping bag. Soroya is waiting for Daniel. They sleep together again. Fairly’s car is returned, but he does get a hefty ticket. We see that Maxine is thinking about taking a job elsewhere. She gives Daniel permission to finish the autopsy. Fairly calls Soroya and tells her that Harrow might be wrong about the river bones. She looks through pictures of the potential victim.
During this same time, Steph looks for the sleeping bag. Steph finds a picture of herself with the victim, Robert Vincent Quinn. Soroya opens Quinn’s profile.
Harrow
This episode of Harrow wasn’t bad. It was slightly too easy for Daniel and Fern though. It was pretty cheesy that everything just came together so easy. Nevertheless, the episode was still entertaining. It seems that Daniel might have gained a little respect from his daughter. However, Soroya is getting closer to discovering the victim’s identity. Now, we know that Robert was somehow connected to Steph. I am very interested in seeing how that plays out. The episode scores a 7 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Harrow right now.
