Ken asks if she has been busy with cheerleading because she has not been around the house. She claims to have lots of homework before rushing out the door with Troy in tow. Harlan Coben’s Shelter Review
Three episode in, the story veers away from the plot. It added little to the story. I don’t find the family drama important or interesting. It is just filler to get more out of the series.
The episode deserves a 5.2. Get more Harlan Coben’s Shelter recaps here. Support Reel Mockery by clicking the link. Our onsite advertising builds brand awareness, learn more by speaking to our customer support.

I’m all caught up. There seems to be a grand conspiracy afoot but it’s not really reeling me in or anything. The old lady is not a badguy. I think they made clear. She’s the Gandolf behind it all, whatever “it all” is but clearly it involves his dad. Bald guy of course is also not a badguy. If anything Frenchy is the bad guy, or at least an accomplice. I can just tell that’s the way these kind of shows are. It’s possible the enemy behind it all is some kind of lycanthrop or shape shifter. The octopus guy, the surfer nazi EMT guy and the girl are all three the same person. Some kind of Nazi experiment. I’m totally speculating. Show is not that bad. I’m entertained. I could do with less crybabying on the part of Mickey and less girl on girl action and more overall suspense. The fact it’s WW2 era Nazi stuff is dumb. That war was 80 years ago. They could have made it narly FSB agents or people within our own government.
I think you’re right on the Nazi stuff which is cool and all, but we’ve seen that a billion times. It really reminds me a little of Apt Pupil even if there aren’t that many similarities. Considering this is Harlan Coben and his previous works, I would expect some type of big twist just before the bad guys are revealed. It’s a little crazy that his stuff has been done so widely I think starting on ITV or BBC before going to Netflix and now Amazon.
It isn’t bad, but like you I am not hooked either. I’ll stick with it regardless.
