This week, Mark Bonnar posted a picture on his Twitter page confirming that the third season of Guilt is now filming. The Scottish thriller was originally commissioned for the BBC Scotland channel before shifting over to BBC Two. Guilt, which is written and created by Neil Forsyth, follows two brothers who get into a hit-and-run incident and attempt to overlook their guilt while covering their tracks.
Through two seasons, Guilt has become a critical hit worldwide having aired on PBS in the United States, BBC First in Australia, Arte in Germany, and elsewhere. Mark Bonnar and Jamie Sives star as Max and Jake respectively. The brothers take different paths after the hit-and-run incident with the possibility that one will be consumed by their guilt and betray the other.

BBC confirmed Guilt would return for a third and final season in May 2022. Little is known about the final season although it will likely air sometime next year. If the finale for season two is any indication, the brothers may believe they’ve been given a clean slate, but their world will likely be turned upside down once again.
