Sky has announced the official release date of the second season of its BAFTA winning television show Gangs of London. The new season will be available on Sky Atlantic and NOW beginning on October 20. A year after the death of Sean Wallace and the violent events of season one, London’s map and soul have been redrawn. Ex-undercover office Elliot is being forced to work for investors. The Dumanis and Wallaces face turmoil of their own.
Investors have decided to rally around heroin baron Asif Afridi in an attempt to restore power. Together, they’ve installed a new ruler in London called Koba who happens to be a brutal gang leader. Koba wants to turn the country’s criminal landscape into a dictatorship where gangster codes do not exist and he controls a monopoly over the city’s drug trade.
With the gangs fighting back, Koba’s monopoly will not last forever. Who will emerge as the winner of the battle for the soul of London? Series 2 will reunite many of the first season’s most popular characters portrayed by Brian Vernal, Valene Kane, Asif Raza, Paapa Essiedu, Michelle Fairley, and Pippa Bennett-Warner. Others joining the cast include Salem Kali, Waleed Zuaiter as Koba, Jasmine Armando as Saba, and Fady El-Sayed as Faz. Before season two is released, catch up with season one recaps at Reel Mockery here.
