The powerful public television documentary, Death Is But A Dream, will give viewers a chance to live the process of dying from the perspective of patients. The one-hour documentary showcases the work of Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo (HPCB) CEO Dr. Christopher Kerr and his research team.
Kerr and his team have spent nearly a decade applying a scientific approach in hopes of better understanding the dying process, including non-physical, inner processes. Death Is But A Dream comes from J.J. Sicotte and Monica De La Torre.
The film provides viewers with firsthand accounts from dying patients who often detail the best aspects of living and having mattered through conversations or dreams. While their words do not deny the reality of death, they emphasize the love and meaning of life. Dr. Kerr and Dr. Pei Grant lead the interdisciplinary team at HPCB to research and identify ways to improve the quality of care for seriously ill patients as well as their loved ones.
Death Is But a Dream will air on WNED PBS on February 22 at 9 PM. Furthermore, the documentary is scheduled for national distribution in April of 2021.
