Earlier this month, Roku launched a brand-new skill for Amazon’s Alexa. The skill makes it possible for consumers to control their Roku devices using their voice. American Roku streaming player and Roku TV owners can control their Roku devices using Alexa.
The new voice control technology greatly expands the flexibility and choice for consumers. It also ensures consumers are able to gain access to their entertainment as quickly as possible. In order to take advantage of the new feature, Roku users will need an Alexa-enabled device.
This includes an Amazon Echo, Echo Show, Echo Spot, Echo Dot or Echo Plus. With one of these devices, they’ll be able to pause a show, search for entertainment and launch a streaming channel. They’ll also be able to turn on their television, adjust the volume, mute the television, switch inputs and change channels using their voice.
