Bandit – As this episode of Colin From Accounts begins, Ashley (Harriet Dyer) and Megan (Emma Harvie) hang out at Peggy’s place. They talk about Gordon (Patrick Brammall) and whether he is too old for Ashley. Megan suggests she needs to stop caring about what other people think. Ashley admits she likes him. Megan tells her happy 30th birthday. Gordon tries to dress like a young person although Brett (Michael Logo) thinks he looks like a Love Island contestant. Chiara (Genevieve Hegney) laughs at him as well. Gordon explains he is trying to impress her mates.
Chiara says they’re millennials so they hate everything. Chiara reminds him that they can’t have mates rates tonight. Ashley and Megan ride on scooters while Gordon prepares for tonight. He greets them when they walk through the door. They notice what he is wearing right away. Once Ashley and Megan meet with friends, Gordon has a tough time taking them to their private table. He quickly runs into problems when he realizes they don’t have the drinks Ashley’s friends want. Later, Megan and Chiara talk about St Vincent. Gordon thinks they’re talking about a hospital. He asks Chiara not to throw him under the hipster bus since he is already having a tough time.
When Brett comes over to talk about Megan, Chiara tells him to leave her alone. Brett learns that everything is going bad for Gordon because he is basically a waiter at his girlfriend’s party. Brett gives him encouragement before telling him to get in there and do his thing. Gordon lets the group taste his summer series beers. He sits down and makes Ashley introduce him to the others. She calls him her friend before running off to say hello to Willow. Gordon tells them he owns the brewery before he is introduced to Scout. Soon, he learns that Zadie is coming. He gets upset when one of them refers to him as a boomer.
When Gordon pulls Ashley to the side, she explains that Ryan is just testing him. Gordon worries he isn’t passing. Ashley thinks he just needs to relax. She keeps waiting for her dad to message her, but she hasn’t heard from him at all. Gordon gives her a gift. It is a necklace with a picture of Colin. Chiara comes over with a surprise which is her secret off-license gin. While the others drink, Gordon tells Brett that the necklace went great. Chiara hangs out with Megan who asks if anyone has told her she is fascinating and very beautiful. Chiara tells her that she is too. Gordon doesn’t remember thinking this much when he was their age. Brett thinks that is because he drank this much.
Chiara comes over to complain about being intoxicated by Megan. Gordon apologizes to her before she leaves. James arrives with outside food so Brett has to tell him that isn’t allowed. Brett gives Gordon advice for dealing with James. Gordon tries it only for James to think he is Ashley’s dad. Ashley explains Gordon is her boyfriend before asking him not to kick James out. Gordon gets mad at the others and lashes out. Ashley insists he is normally cool. James gives her the shirt she loved the most when she stayed over. While the others party, Gordon goes into the back to speak to Megan about Chiara. Megan tells him he has a kind face like Play-Doh.
Gordon admits he really likes Ashley because she is usually brilliant. When the party gets out of control, Gordon has to shut it down. A man falls six meters but doesn’t want an ambulance because he doesn’t have travel insurance. After Gordon calls Ryan a cunt, Ashley thinks they should go to Ryan’s place. When they’re alone, Ashley asks Gordon if he is mad at her. He says he is because she stood there and watched while her friend shat on him. Gordon tells her not to worry about anything that could be broken, but he hopes Ryan dies tonight. He goes on to say he doesn’t appreciate being treated like a warm prop in front of her ex.
He doesn’t know how this is going to work if this is a night out with her and her mates. Gordon suggests the age difference might be too much. She says he likes to drink red wine and play online poker for hours. When Gordon says she is mean, Ashley says he is mean. She accuses him of embarrassing her in front of her friends. Gordon doesn’t think things are supposed to be this hard this early on. He says they shouldn’t have kept the dog because this isn’t working. Ashley believes he just broke up with her so she decides to storm off. While Gordon gambles, Ashley gets a message from her father about her birthday. As she walks down the street, she sees a sign for the missing dog named Bandit.
Colin From Accounts Review
The seventh episode of Colin from Accounts wasn’t as good as some of the others although the ending revelation was good. The group at the party was slightly annoying as well. Most episodes have been good so it is okay for the series to have a setback just before the finale. The good news is that this episode did everything it needed to set up an interesting finale since Ashley knows about Bandit.
After seeing the last few minutes of this episode, it is hard not to want to finish the finale to find out what happens. The episode scores a 5.5 out of 10.
