Channel 5 has released a teaser video for its upcoming television shows including Riptide, The Catch, The Good Ship Murder, Desperate Measures, and others.
Riptide
Riptide is a psychological thriller created by Jason Herbison and directed by Scott Major. The series will air on Network 10 in Australia and Channel 5 in the UK. It stars Jo Joyner, Peter O’Brien, Ben Turland, Ciaran Griffiths, David Berry, Alexandra Fowler, Asher Yasbincek, and Pia Miranda.
Once Alison’s husband goes missing while surfing, some suspect he was caught in a riptide, but others question if there is more to the story. Alison sets out to uncover the truth about her new husband’s disappearance. The series is expected to air sometime in 2023.

The Catch
The Catch is anticipated to be a four-part series about a local fisherman determined to prevent his family from falling apart. 1899 star Aneurin Barnard stars as Ryan, Jason Watkins as Ed, Brenda Fricker as Phyllis, Poppy Gilbert as Abbie, and Cathy Belton as Claire. The series is based on the novel by TM Logan.
Ed’s life is turned upside down when Ryan attempts to take Abbie away from him. As Ed desperately tries to find out the truth about the mysterious Ryan, he will have to avoid disclosing secrets from his past that could destroy everything.
The Catch is the second TM Logan novel to be adapted for Channel 5 with the first being The Holiday. An official date has not been released, but The Catch will air next year.
Desperate Measures
Desperate Measures is a four-part drama series starring Amanda Abbington and Warren Brown. Rowan (Amanda Abbington) is a dedicated bank clerk struggling to raise her son Finn on a shady estate. When Finn loses money, a brutal gang leader will threaten his life leaving Rowan with few options.
She will do the unthinkable by plotting a dangerous bank robbery where she works. Other cast members include Francis Magee, Sunetra Sarker, Roderick Hill, Caroline Boulton, Jeremy Wheeler, Ralph Berkin, Jonathan Nyati, and Gabor Nagypal.

Dalgliesh
Bertie Carvel returns as Adam Dalgliesh in the second season of crime drama Dalgliesh. After a successful first season on Acorn TV and Channel 5, the series was renewed in March 2022 with a third being confirmed a few months later. The series is based on the Adam Dalgliesh novels by PD James and follows the crime-solving, poet played by Doctor Foster star Bertie Carvel.
The second season will again have six episodes covering three novels in total.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries
This crime drama series is being produced for Acorn TV and Channel 5 by Saffron Cherry Productions. The series is written by Sally Lindsay and Sue Vincent. Sally Lindsay stars as Jean White whose life changes forever when her husband Rory is killed in a car crash.
The Cheshire antiques dealer is left penniless so she will travel to France in hopes of uncovering the mystery surrounding her husband’s death and identifying his mistress. Along the way, Jean will solve other mysteries with help from a local Chief of Police, chateau owners, and a taxi driver.
Steve Edge is Dom Hayes, Sue Vincent is Gloria, Robin Askwith is Jeremy Lloyd James, and Sue Holderness is Judith Lloyd James. The first season, which aired in late 2021, was one of Channel 5’s most popular shows with roughly 2.5 million viewers.
In addition to the second season airing in 2023, there will be a Christmas special.
The Good Ship Murder
Channel 5 has announced the leading cast for its upcoming television series The Good Ship Murder. Shayne Ward and Catherine Tyldesley will star as Jack Grayling and Kate Woods respectively. Grayling is a former detective who dreams of becoming a cabaret singer on a Mediterranean cruise ship. However, his detective skills will quickly be put to good use when he encounters a series of murders on the ship.
He will team up with First Office Kate Woods to unravel the mysteries and bring the culprits to justice. The series is expected to be eight 60-minute episodes.
