The cast has been announced for ITV’s new drama series Beecham House. The series is delivered by the award winning production company Bend It TV. Viewers will be transported to the cusp of the 19th century in Delhi when the region was ruled by the British. The series focuses on the residents of the imposing mansion, Beecham House, which is surrounded by acres of pristine lawns and exotic woods.
Tom Bate is set to star as John Beecham. The former soldier purchased the mansion in hopes of building a new life with his family. During his time in control of the East India Company, John witnessed profiteering and exploitation. He aims to conduct his business in a more equitable manner. Despite being haunted by his past, John is inspired to become an honorable member of the local trading community.
Unfortunately, John is met with gossip right away. His “olive-skinned” child and two Indian nursemaids are sure to spark rumors amongst the locals. Lesley Nicol is set to play John’s interfering mother Henrietta. She is joined by family friend Violet played by Bessie Carter. Lesley is adamant about helping develop a union between John and Violet.
Other additions to the cast include Gregory Fitoussi, Marc Warren, Adil Ray, and Dakota Blue Richards. Further details can be found on ITV’s official press release here.
