The Lost Boys – The episode begins with Aunty Rosa (Lisa Blackman) telling about the time a man woke her up at 3am to say he wants to marry her.
James Cormack (Travis Fimmel) informs Angela that two missing Vanuata nationals, Kalip and Niman Iesul are linked to Ezekiel, the owner of the blue car. He says Isabel Baker (Talijah Blackman-Corowa) was personally involved with Ezekiel Iesul. She asks what is the connection between the missing cousins and Ezekiel. He tells her that they were reported missing from Ashford before Isabel was murdered. She suggests the cousins who were illegal citizens went missing on their own accord. He assures her that Niman and Kalip are linked to Ezekiel.
Cormack asks Joe (Jimi Bani) if he remembers Ezekiel who worked there when Isabel died. Joe claims to vaguely remember he came to church several times. Cormack reminds him that he sent Ezekiel Christmas cards for the last 20 years. Joe pleads with him to leave Ezekiel alone because he was a “good man.” Cormack tells him that Ezekiel’s wife claimed he injured someone in Ashford. Joe says their conversations are private. Hazel (Jammason Power) suggests telling what he knows. Joe assures her that Ezekiel’s innocent.
Cormack asks Steve Walcott (Erik Thomson) if it was his practice to hire illegal laborers. Steve tells him that the mill established a camp to draw workers from the region. Cleo Walcott (Brooke Satchwell) informs him that Billy Hopkins (Anthony J. Sharpe) transported the workers from the camp to the farms in a bus. Cormack says Billy and Tasha Hopkins (Kestie Morassi) are siblings. Cleo describes Billy as a criminal. Cormack says a witness came forward claiming to have seen Isabel at 12:30 not at the intersection with her as in her statement. She says they were having a drink in the van at the park before when they got into a dispute. She tried to cheer up Isabel who had just split with Anton. When Isabel said she wasn’t going on the trip, she made her get out of the van at 11:30.
Ezekiel says when Ezekiel confronted Steve, an altercation broke out. Billy got involved and beat Ezekiel pretty badly. He claims Ezekiel was with him when Isabel died. She asks what became of Niman and Kalip. He suggests they had gotten lost.
Kalana takes Anton Blanchi (Alexander England) up on his offer to practice together. Victor Blanchi (Rob Carlton) suggests he be careful.
Cormack asks Troy Turner (Kim Gyngell) if he recalls a 1994 missing person’s report for two foreign workers. Turner says no when officer Dale Quinn (Gulliver McGrath) says they have Billy’s address.
Cormack tells Billy that Tasha claims he saw Isabel with an older man. Billy says she was supposed to be dating Anton at the time. Cormack asks how Steve ran the camp. Billy claims Steve charged the workers rent and farmers for labor. Cormack says Kalip and Niman went missing. Billy tells him that Isabel and the guy were searching for his missing cousins.
In a flashback, Isabel and young Hector (Fraser Anderson) discuss their time capsule. She shows him a camcorder with Ashford’s top ten videos of 1994. When he leaves, she looks up from her work to see Ezekiel standing at the door. He apologizes for becoming upset when she told him about the boy running from a guy on a motorcycle. He suggests the boy was his cousin, Kalip who is missing along with his other cousin Niman.
In Dalkeith, Hector and Isabel find a trail of blood leading to a dead animal inside a shed. Billy holds Hector at gunpoint until Isabel makes an appearance. She tells him that their searching for Hector’s missing cousins who went missing near there. Billy denies seeing them.
Joe and Glenda (Seini Willett) are waiting when Isabel returns home. He scolds her for being late. She claims to have been out filming fruit bats on Harper’s Road in Dalkeith. Glenda tells her that two domestic workers who died of TB are buried there in unmarked graves. A short time later, a fire destroyed the homestead. The new owner rebuilt after the war ended before committing suicide. Glenda warns her that Dalkeith is cursed while Joe demands she never goes back.
Turner informs Cormack that Billy’s alibi was Steve. He assures him that Billy’s telling the truth. Cormack asks if he was aware of Steve charging the farmers labor provided by the foreign workers. Turner describes it as a “symbiotic relationship.” Cormack says it’s nothing but exploitation.
Billy tells Tasha that there is a video clip of Isabel going off on Steve on the night she died. She suggests he let it stay in the past. He assures her that he’ll do just that when Steve pays him what he owes.
Angela informs Cormack that Kalip and Namin entered the country illegally several weeks before Isabel was killed.
Billy has Isabel’s camcorder. A video shows Isabel accusing Steve of lying about Kalip and Namin. After showing the video to Chloe, he suggests turning it over to Cormack. She tells him to do whatever, it has nothing to do with her. He warns the video could be bad PR for the mill. She assures him that the mill will survive after Steve is replaced with a new CEO. He asks if she’s selling her dad out. She says he’s selling Steve out before threatening to have him arrested for trespassing if he returns to the mill’s property on Harper’s Road.
Chloe tells Steve about Billy’s video. He denies knowing what Isabel was talking about. She asks where he was when Isabel was killed. He suggests asking her the same question. Billy can be seen watching them from a short distance away.
Cormack receives a call from his father in Wacol Prison informing him that he’ll be released soon. He claims to have something important to tell him.
Hazel informs Cormack Of Ezekiel and Steve’s confrontation. She says Joe and Ezekiel were together at the church when Isabel died. Cormack tells her that Joe previously claimed to be at home that night and his alibi is dead.
Hector (Lee Jones) has Billy pinned against a car when Cormack approaches. Cormack asks if they’re settling old scores. Hector asks if he’s ever been bullied. Alejandro (Oscar Leal) agrees to take him home.
Hector tells Alejandro that he woke up covered in blood. When he shows him Isabel’s jewelry, Alejandro suggests they get rid of it. He tells him that he can’t do it.
In a flashback, young Tasha Hopkins (Ava Carmont) tells Isabel to take care of young Anton Blanchi (Josh Macqueen) because he’s fragile. Isabel tells her that the people at the church claim Billy steals from the mill.
Isabel returns home to find Steve with her parents. Steve informs her that she’s been chosen for the Ashford Canegrowers Association Scholarship.
Billy confronts Isabel about what she told Chloe. He says she generally works alone at night before leaving.
Hazel receives a threatening text, “Tell the truth, I’m not bluffing. I’m done lying for you. Time’s up.”
Anton gives Kalana a necklace as a graduation gift. She asks if he misses Isabel. He tells her goodnight before leaving.
Billy confronts Steve at a restaurant. As a lady forces him to leave, he tells Steve that he knows all about Isabel and the missing boys. He goes to the police station to speak to Cormack. Dale informs him that he isn’t there. Turner suggests he talk to him but he refuses.
Hazel asks Cormack what happened to Ritchie. He says his father arrived home drunk and ready to fight. They got into a physical altercation before his father turned on his mum. When he opened the door to the closet, Ritchie stabbed him with a knife before fleeing. Cormack says he hasn’t seen him since that night.
Kalana and a friend spray paint on a statue before taking a selfie.
Cormack gives Hazel a photo of young Hector and Isabel with a camera. He says the camera is in Billy’s possession. Dale alerts Cormack of an accident.
Black Snow Review
Steve was so desperate to find workers for the mill, he established a camp for foreign nationals that crossed into border illegally. Ezekiel’s cousins, Kalip and Niman who were in Ashford illegally went missing. Ezekiel partnered with Isabel to search the property at Harper’s Road. Billy holds Ezekiel at gunpoint until Isabel explains the purpose of their visit. He denies seeing the missing cousins.
Steve hired Billy to transport the laborers to the farms to work. He charged the illegal workers rent and farmers for their labor.
Cleo lies about being with Isabel at the intersection. They’re sitting in a van at the park when Isabel informs Cleo that she won’t be going with her on the trip. Cleo becomes upset and forces her out of the van. She drives home, leaving Isabel alone in the park at 11:30.
Billy beats Ezekiel when he confronts Steve about his missing cousins. He discovers a video on Isabel’s camcorder in which she accuses Steve of living about Namin and Kalip. Cleo’s in the least perturbed about the video but does threaten to have him arrested for trespassing on the mill’s property at Harper’s Road.
Cormack and his mother were abused by his father who’s serving time in Wacol Prison. They get into a physical altercation when his father arrives home drunk and ready to fight. After his father beats him, he turns on his mother who pleads with him to get his brother, Ritchie out of the house. Ritchie’s hiding in a closet with a knife which he utilizes to stab Cormack who he believes is his father. Ritchie fled and was never seen again.
Cormack struggles with his father being released from prison. He asks him to visit him because he has something important to tell him.
The story is deflating right before your eyes because of poor editing and repetitive flashbacks. The episode added little to nothing to the story. Skip it and not miss a thing.
