Biggest Shows Returning To Your Screen In 2022 – 2023

reel mockery news

It simply goes without saying that there are more than enough TV series and shows to choose from these days. And this isn’t referring to reruns. These are brand-new, never-seen-before TV series and shows.

What’s even more intriguing is that a lot of them are releasing entire seasons at a time. Whether this is a successful marketing strategy or not, only time will tell, but it does make several things certain. Viewers will likely have a much harder time trying to find something to watch.

In addition to this, the influx of new releases will make it harder and harder for your average shows to get noticed. Unfortunately, many works that truly deserve the respect will not get it. Interestingly enough, just because a show gets a continuation, it doesn’t necessarily mean it deserves it.

In fact, many works are guaranteed 2 or 3 seasons before the release of the 1st. With the worries and struggles of everyday life, it can be hard to keep up with something that seems as meaningless as TV. Luckily, you won’t miss out on a single second when you tune in to these truly deserving hits.

CBS’s Ghosts

There was absolutely no chance that CBS was going to ghost its ultra-popular and newly released comedy series, Ghosts. Although like many shows today, this is a remake of the popular British series, it is fair to say that the American version offers a fresh-faced look into the already intriguing storyline. Averaging around 8 million viewers each episode, only confirms the writers are doing something different from the traditional stodgy network releases CBS typically puts out.

The second season will likely drop sometime in the fall of 2022 and is promised to bring even more gentle chaos and hijinks from the lingering spirits than the first. While the plot is pretty much written right into the title of the series, the show will turn out much different than most think. The story follows a collection of titular spirits that haunt a rundown country estate. Samantha and Jay are the unsuspecting duo that inherits the property and plans to turn it into a functional bed and breakfast.

While Sam and Jay are exceptional additions to the series, it’s the backstories of the grumbling spirits that are so intriguing to most. Some are very dated and range from the modern to the colonial days, with even more interesting tales as to why they haven’t passed on to death.

Emily In Paris On Netflix

Netflix promises that Emily will stay in Paris and she’s expected to show back up on the streaming lineup sometime near Christmas of 2022. Debuting in the top 10 in 94 countries with nearly 110 million hours viewed five days after the initial release, it’s more than easy to see why. It’s a good thing too because the previous season ended on one heck of a cliffhanger.

Emily was discussing her departure with Sylvie. It seems that Emily will not be heading back to the gloomy weather of the Windy City, Chicago, at least not permanently anyway. Despite the show’s immense success, it does feature a similar vibe and atmosphere as its siring series, Sex and The City. Emily in Paris comes from the very same creator, Darren Star.

It follows your average, young American girl, Lily Collins (Emily), as she embarks on Paris after landing her dream marketing gig. What ensues is sheer gold! The series was actually shot onsite, which really helps capture the authentic look and feel of Paris. Although this is nothing groundbreaking, Emily is in store for more than a mere adventure. Right from the very start, she’ll struggle to fit in while trying to balance her work and social life.

With all the other available streaming options these days, it is hard to say that the show doesn’t have a lackluster storyline, but it is the passion and authentically strong feelings that grip viewers and keep them glued to their seats. With Emily’s American mentality and the creator’s natural intrigue for an expatriate living in Paris, the show feels extremely real. Whether it is switching to a new school or the anxiety of starting a new career, it’s easy for anyone to relate to the star’s woes.

Prime’s Hit The Boys

The real side of an American hero with superpowers has long been explored with series like Watchmen, but there is no denying that The Boys take it to all-new heights. Right from the very start of the series, the series has held back no punches as to how the gifted individuals might treat the earth as their own personal playground. Expected to return in June of 2022, fans hope for an explanation as to how Homelander is seen standing, smiling in front of the cameras after what the bloody season 2 finale brought.

Speaking of Homelander, the tension between him and Starlight was already palpable at times, but now it’s almost staggering for the two to be in the same room. The series is easy, hands down one of the most intriguing superhero series of all time, but with the new addition of Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles as soldier boy, the series could blow right off the charts.

The storyline might not be groundbreaking fresh, but it is the show’s ability to push those shockingly super-raunchy scenes and make them work that stands out. Say too much more would give away some expected great spoilers. All that said, the mind trusts behind this amazing series have already promised at least one super-raunchy scene that is said to raise the shock value of the series higher than ever before. That’s truly saying something, given all the show has already accomplished.

The Sex Lives Of College Girls By HBO Max

Could there be a more entrancing and alluring title for a TV series today? Likely not, and this series has big shoes to fill. Since the conclusion of the hit TV series, The Girls, many have felt an open wound in their hearts. After such a great first season, it became evident to longtime fans that this could be the very replacement.

Given the title of the series, it’s not hard to imagine what the series entails. The show’s recent return announcement will bring back lead Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Renee Rapp, and Alyah Chanelle Scott. The four will make up the young ladies attending Essex College in New England. The first season was crammed with laughs, and drama, and explored many potentially real scenarios. In fact, that is probably the very thing that made the show so great, and might even lead it to become more renowned than Girls.

Not that Girls was unrealistic or anything, but this series will hit at home with a lot more people these days. It doesn’t hurt that you have the Mindy-Kaling duo focusing on nearly every developmental concept of the series. It’s honestly pretty easy to see how the first season was named one of the best shows of 2021. The second should be able to raise the bar even higher if all goes accordingly.
