The BBC and Masterpiece PBS have announced that Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light will begin filming shortly. The series is based on the final novel in Hilary Mantel’s trilogy and will consist of six parts. In the United Kingdom, Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light will air on BBC One and the iPlayer. The final installment will be directed by seven-time BAFTA award winner Peter Kosminsky.
Mark Rylance is returning as Thomas Cromwell and will joined by Damian Lewis, Jonathan Pryce, Kate Phillips, and Lilit Lesser. The BBC expects to announce returning and new cast members in the near future. After the death of Anne Boleyn, Cromwell will attempt to amass power and wealth.
As for Henry, he will settle for a short stint of happiness with a third queen, Jane Seymour. Cromwell must balance his desire to do the right thing with his survival. After Henry VIII executes his queen, Cromwell realizes that no one is safe. Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light will follow the final four years of Cromwell’s life as he finally becomes one of the most feared, influential figures of his time.
Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light will consist of six 60-minute episodes.
