At the beginning of the episode, Miri Matteson (Daisy Haggard) steps outside and speaks with Billy (Adeel Akhtar). Billy has a bush that smells funny and he suspects mildew. He is worried that the bush might have a disease and he doesn’t understand Miri’s jokes. She says that it would be great if they could hang out again sometime. Billy agrees to think about it before leaving. Back inside, Caroline (Geraldine James) tries to get romantic with Oscar (Richard Durden) but it isn’t working. Oscar just won’t cooperate. Billy’s wife steps outside and confronts Miri. At first, she is nice but things change very quickly.

Miri gets a mouthful before she tells the woman to drop dead. Unfortunately, she does. Before we know it, the police arrive and officer Tina (Juliet Cowan) interviews Miri. During the interview, Miri tells the truth about everything including her final statement. Tina becomes concerned that Miri may be trouble. Miri tries to apologize to Billy but he is angry with her again. After that, Miri meets up with Nathan (Liam Williams). He has sold his restaurant and is now operating out of a trailer. Miri tells her boss what she has done and she is convinced that he should fire her.

Nathan doesn’t want to do it so Miri fires herself. Caroline tries to get Oscar in the mood but he cannot stop thinking about dead women. Mandy (Christine Bottomley) meets up with Miri and lets her know that local Twitter believes she killed her neighbor. While they prepare for an advantage, Oscar and Caroline go to the pharmacy for Viagra. Unfortunately, the store doesn’t have any. Dom (Jamie Michie) enters and Caroline finds out about the fight. She leaves in a hurry before Dom tells Oscar that he isn’t afraid of him. Nathan calls the police to tell them that Miri threatened to do something to his shop after he fired her.

Miri tries to buy flowers for Billy but the clerk is a jerk. Mandy knows him. She gets involved and convinces the clerk to be a good boy. Miri buys the flowers and leaves with Mandy a few moments later. Back at home, Oscar and Caroline have nearly given up on their romance. When Caroline started going through the magazines to get rid of some, Oscar gets happy. He tells his wife to keep going. That night, Miri and Mandy share a smoke while chatting about old times. They chat about Miri’s sex life. She is basically still a virgin despite getting a little action from Dom.

Mandy wonders why Lara was so angry with her. Both women decide to head home a short time later. Nathan gets a visit from Dom who is looking for Miri. Nathan tells him that she is gone now that she has been fired. Miri takes the flowers to Billy. Now, he believes that his wife died a peaceful death. He confirms that she was responsible for the poop boxes. Tina arrives and interrupts their conversation. She arrests Miri for setting fire to Nathan’s store. Mandy gets a text message telling her to be careful. She leaves a voicemail for Samuel (Frank Feys) telling him to leave her alone. As the episode ends, we watch Nathan’s trailer burn.

 

Back To Life Review

I like Back to Life and I am not sure why. The show is somewhat stupid at times but I find it slightly depressing too. I think it might have a little something for everyone. A lot of people will like the humor while others will enjoy the story. I fit into the latter group. This episode was very funny but I often feel that the jokes fall flat. They didn’t here.

I liked the back and forth between Caroline and Oscar. I am not sure what is going on with Nathan but I believe he might be reaching out for help. I can’t wait to finish the season.
