As the episode begins, Anne Shirley-Cuthbert (Amybeth McNulty) plays in a tree nearby the family home. She eventually falls into a stream. When he returns home, Marilla (Geraldine James) forces her to take a shower and get ready for dinner. Mr. Dunlop (Shane Carty) is shown preparing food in the kitchen. During dinner, Nate (Taras Lavren) joins them late. Nate agrees to say grace for the family. Meanwhile, Gilbert Blythe (Lucas Jade Zumann) is shown working on a ship. He makes friends with Sebastian (Delmar Abuzeid).

The following day, Anne begins getting on Nate’s nerves. He gives her a book and tells her to read it. He promises that she’ll know everything he knows after she has finished it. On his way out, Nate makes sure to butter up to Marilla. Outside, Nate speaks with Dunlop about their plan to strike it rich. Jerry Baynard (Aymeric Jett Montaz) finds Anne reading in the barn. She surprised him. Jerry admits that he doesn’t fully trust Nate.

Nate meets with Mr. William Barry (Jonathan Holmes). He tries to convince him to buy into the bogus gold deal. Anne works with Dunlop and the others on the farm. Sebastian and Gilbert speak about their options. Sebastian insists that his are limited, because he is black. Anne, Marilla and Matthew (R.H. Thomson) hit the beach. Anne makes sure that everyone has a blast. Once Anne returns home, she speaks with Nate about the book. She believes that he has familiarized himself with the gold chapters more than the others.

Afterwards, Anne spends time with Ruby (Kyla Matthews) and Diana (Dalila Bela). Anne tries to help Jerry learn the alphabet. Later that night, Nate and Dunlop discuss their plans once again. Nate explains that he is tired of Anne being so noisy. Dunlop tries to win her over in the morning. Nate harasses Jerry. Anne interrupts. Again, Jerry tells Anne that Nate cannot be trusted. Later, Nate tries to win over Marilla again. William’s wife tries to figure out what is bugging him. He doesn’t open up to her.

Later that night, Anne gives Dunlop a gift. Then, she overhears them talking about the gold arrangement. It is clear that they’re trying to use her to sell it to the locals. Before too long, Nate is pitching his deal to the locals. He manages to convince them to give up their money to get the gold tested. Anne finds a device used to create fake gold certification documents. She hides it under her pillow and tells Marilla about her desire to contact Gilbert. Nate finds out that someone has been snooping through his stuff. He sets up a trap to catch them.

 

Anne With An E Review

Anne With An E is back and it is just as good as before. This episode was very good. The addition of Nate and his buddy was very good. That will create an interesting season. Will Anne be able to help the locals uncover Nate’s deceitful plot? It was also interested to see Gilbert working on a ship. I can’t wait to watch the next episode. This one was great.
