AMC has announced that the original romantic comedy The Lovers will be debuting in the United States and Canada with two episodes on December 7. The first two episodes will be available on AMC+ and Sundance Now on Thursday with future episodes being released weekly. The Lovers, which is set in Belfast Northern Ireland, is a comedy following Janet (Roisin Gallagher) and Seamus (Johnny Flynn).
Janet and Seamus couldn’t be more different. Janet works at a supermarket and cares very little about politics or anything for that matter. As for Seamus, he is a political broadcaster who cares about most things but himself above all else. During a mishap, Seamus finds his way into Janet’s life. Although they immediately clash, they’re also strangely drawn to one another.
The six-part series follows their relationship and its ups and downs. The finale will be available on Sundance Now and AMC+ on January 4, 2024. AMC also announced that Acorn TV’s Harry Wild had been renewed for a third series. The successful mystery series stars Jane Seymour who also serves as executive producer. The third series is expected to debut on Acorn next year.
AMC reported that the first series of Harry Wild was a breakout success while the second remained a top performer. Seymour stars as Harriet “Harry” Wild who is a retiring university literature professor. She is joined by Rohan Nedd, Kevin Ryan, Amy Huberman, Samantha Mumba, Paul Tylak, and Rose O’Neill.
The story for season three continues where season two ended with Fergus contesting Paula’s custody claim to Liberty with Harry’s help. It won’t be so easy since they’ll encounter multiple obstacles along the way. With the agency just as busy as ever, Harry and Fergus will need to find a way to balance their professional and personal lives. They’ll deal with multiple unique cases, including trying to prove that the lead singer of a hot Ireland boy band didn’t commit suicide.
They’ll also need to track down the culprit who beheaded a woman in a busy restaurant and served her head on a platter. Harry’s good friend will enlist her help when her estranged husband turns up dead. Series three of Harry Wild will feature six episodes streaming on Acorn TV. The series was filmed in Dublin, Ireland.
