Muncie insists he didn’t kill Brother14. Rome isn’t worried about the woman who is after Muncie. Khalil and Franco talk about whether Muncie did this. They’re introduced to Julia Jayne (Alison Wright) who says she can give them access to the camera systems. Julia is convinced Muncie is responsible. She knows they wired up Daniels in an attempt to incriminate Stuart. Lucie (Tamsin Topolski) gets a call from a debt collection agency. She finds out that Stuart Magnusson has been killed. Lucie calls the Federal Bureau of Investigation to ask for Agent Franco Quinones. When Rome is out of the room, Muncie tries to feed his dog. Then, he flees from the trailer. Julia speaks to Franco about Muncie. She says Don Sloss worked security for them on a freelance basis. Yesterday, Don was assigned to Stuart’s personal detail. Moments later, Franco learns that Muncie Daniels just showed up at a hospital five miles from there.

Kallie asks if he was part of the thing at Stu’s place. Muncie wants to warn Elena. When the cop enters the room, Muncie tells him that a woman is likely on the way to kill him. Officer Vasquez (Ivan Lopez) handcuffs him to the hospital bed and says there’s a situation downstairs. Once he leaves, Muncie tells Kallie that it’s the woman and they need to get out of there. As they work to escape, Julia tries to find Muncie. She checks his room and finds out that he’s escaped. Kallie and Muncie hide while Kallie calls for help. Julia hears Franco when he arrives at the hospital. Franco tries to stop Julia who shoots him and escapes. Once things calm down, Muncie apologizes to Kallie for dragging her into this.

Franco tells Muncie that Philly police still have him as their prime suspect. He’s going to take Muncie to a safe house and put him in front of HQ folks tomorrow. Muncie wants a protective order for his wife, his son, and his daughter. Kallie claims she’s fine since Julia doesn’t know her. Julia speaks to a man on the phone and asks for an extract since she had a confrontation with a fed. Julia receives a news alert confirming authorities are looking for her. Muncie calls Elena and says Lucie found her husband’s hard drive and called Franco. He wants Elena to be safe until he gets there. After the call, Muncie watches a news report about his release and Stu’s murder. Muncie talks to Franco and watches television. Muncie asks about Mark Simon’s hard drive. Franco says Stu was just some money. The real power was with someone else at Revitalize.

Simon was alleging that person had three people killed in the last half year. Six months ago, a political YouTuber named Jerry Park was killed in a car accident. Park had stopped supporting the re-election of the Senate Energy Committee Chairman Ross Wright. Three months ago, a popular radio host in Alaska died of a fentanyl overdose. The host supported an upstart candidate who has completely disappeared from the scene. Last month, a precinct manager in North Carolina died of a heart attack. Franco believes Mark Simon was gathering proof and he was going to join forces with Laura Jennings to make a big splash before the election. Julia switches vehicles. Franco and Muncie get food. They joke about Benny and Puerto Ricans. Franco says his brother Manny got sucked into some extremism five years ago. Before long, he was in deep. Manny turned on him and stopped talking to Franco as well as his friends. He attacked a cop at a protest and took six shots to the chest.

The next day, Muncie and Franco meet Lucie. Franco says they need to give their opener before bringing them in. When they’re alone, Lucie tells Muncie that she’s getting witness protection. She learns that Stu is dead and Muncie was there. Muncie says a woman calling herself Julia Jayne killed Stu. Lucie saw her name on the hard drive. Franco and Khalil speak to the others about Stu and everything else. The agent says he wants to bring in Julia and close the case. They’re not interested in dealing with Revitalize. Franco is not happy. He’s told to hand Muncie Daniels over to the Philadelphia Police Department. Moments later, Franco scolds Khalil for leaving him hanging. Muncie and Lucie try to find out what is going on. Franco tells them he doesn’t know what the FBI wants. He informs Muncie he’s supposed to return him to custody. Muncie might have 24 hours before they realize Franco cut him loose.

Franco says they’re all just cowards. He apologizes and leaves in a hurry. Lucie asks Muncie about Laura Jennings. She recommends contacting Laura’s widow. Lucie lets Muncie take her car. He promises to bring it back to her. Muncie calls Elena to tell her what is going on. He tells her to get out of Nadia’s place. Elena thinks it’s time to leave the country. Julia waits for someone. The Madness Review

The sixth episode of The Madness continued spinning the web to the point that it’s no longer recognizable. It’d take a lot of effort to figure out exactly what is happening here and who is playing here. The problem with that is that the story really isn’t worth the effort.

In reality, it would be better to skip a few episodes just to get to the finale much sooner. These episodes are just dragging because the series never needed eight episodes. One interesting thing about this episode was the historical site where Muncie spoke to Noah who was the brother of Jerry Park.

Muncie and Noah were sitting near the Dominion Carriage Works building which originally housed a blacksmith and wheelwright shop. The business prospered and eventually included an upholsterer and cabinet market. Although the building was originally in Sebringville, Ontario, it moved to The Village at Black Creek in 1973.

The Village at Black Creek is a popular attraction in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Much like the rest of the series, these scenes were filmed in Canada. Sadly, the historical nature of the buildings is more interesting than The Madness. A jaw-dropping finale could potentially make the whole thing worthwhile, but it has really been a tedious slog to get through.

This episode scores a 4.5 out of 10. Recaps of The Madness can be found here. Find out how to support our independent site at this link. Learn more about advertising with us here. Join the discussion here.
