Colin suggests they should shoot the bull. Graham believes that’s for Emily though. Sandra (Sara Wiseman) tries to cheer up Lachie (Joe Klocek). She warns him to be careful. Uncle Bryce (Hamilton Morris) and Keeley Redford (Tuuli Narkle) talk about the deal with Sandra. He’s worried because the road is going through that Sorry Place and a sacred place. Bryce urges her to shut the road down or they’re in big trouble. Marshall goes to the bar to try to get into a fight. Sharnie Kennedy (Kylah Day) shows up and stops Marshall from being beaten too much. He tells her about Susie. Sharnie says she was getting a bottle for herself and Rich but she isn’t back with him. She’s moving on. Marshall admits he thought she was dead. They begin making out. Emily tells Hank (Dan Wyllie) that she can’t go back to Marianne. Hank suggests she put on a mask and forgot who she was. She fooled herself into thinking she was doing it all for her daughter. Hank doubts it was for her though. He says it was Emily’s ambition.

The only way back from this now is to stay true. Hank tells her to take the station. Emily insists Susie wouldn’t have wanted that. Colin admits they can’t get fuel. Graham says they have to get the cows out of the country. He learns that someone is lighting fires along the eastern fence line. When Rich sees a helicopter, he leaves his partner and flees. Colin and Graham confront the man. Graham wants him to send a message to Campbell Miller. Colin sets his pants on fire. They end up leaving them out there. Colin worries they’re going to keep coming from them now. He says they have to hit back at Miller with everything they have. Colin calls the Chief Minister to say things have gone too far with Miller. The Chief Minister asks what he could do. Marshall talks to Sharnie about the storm birds. Sharnie thinks he should go since Rich will be back tonight. Rich returns to Campbell (Jay Ryan) to tell him what happened.

Campbell learns that they’re going to start investigating him for cross-branding. He worries they’ll try to cancel his brand and he won’t be able to sell any of his cattle. Rich suggests he could kill the Lawsons for him. Keeley approaches Sandra to ask her about the road on Marianne. Sandra says the only place she can get a road through is somehow a sacred place now. Keeley tells her about the Sorry Place which is sacred. The community tried to get it recognized in the 90s and Colin Lawson shut down the idea. He paid off some old fellas. Sandra offers to pay them again. Keeley urges her to move the road because Uncle Bryce won’t take it. Sandra feels like she’s being played. Keeley warns her they’ll have a big problem if she messes them around. Dezi is told Graham okayed him to be at Marianne Station and the cattle are along the river. Dezi finds NTMS workers. He tries to flee from them.

One of the men shoots at him but misses. The other calls to tell the boss they have a problem. Campbell meets Sandra to tell her that the Lawsons are trying to bury him. Sandra suggests they need a change of government. She wants him to be on hand to protect her men at the escarpment. Once they’re gone, Campbell will have Marianne Station. Sandra just doesn’t want him to ask about her business. Lachie meets Hank and Emily to say his mom reopened a gold mine on Marianne Station. She wants the infrastructure and the mine is a cover for uranium. Lachie explains that she’s going to be enriching uranium and sending it overseas. They can use the land to bury, store, and hide the radioactive waste. If that happens, no one will buy their cattle. Lachie tells Emily she has to hold onto Marianne Station for Susie. Rich wakes Marshall with a rifle. Sharnie finds him gone.

Territory Review

The finale of Territory was okay although definitely unbelievable. There are so many crimes going on including fatal shootings and explosions, yet no one seems to bother investigating those crimes. It’s hard to know whether this will get a second series since the engagement numbers haven’t been great.

However, there is a chance that it’ll get renewed. Based on the finale, there is still room for the story to expand. Some storylines really couldn’t be expanded on without bending reality even more though. For instance, Campbell probably couldn’t come back after everything that has happened. Colin would also have to face trial or at least an investigation into Rich’s fatal shooting.

There’s also the fact that Graham never went to trial for the shooting incident in the bar either. Instead, he was only bonded out by Sandra. The series is watchable regardless of the believability issues, but it’s not for viewers looking for something touching or memorable. The finale scores a 6 out of 10.
