At the start of the episode, we relive the shooting of Daniel Harrow (Ioan Gruffudd). Daniel is rushed to the hospital. Everything goes well. Before too long. Daniel is awake and speaking to Maxine (Robyn Malcolm). Maxine tries to get Daniel to open up about the shooting. It is clear that he isn’t sure who actually shot him. Fern (Ella Newton) visits her father a short time later. Daniel tries to be tough. He pretends that nothing is wrong. Next, Bryan Nichols (Damien Garvey) visits. He interviews Daniel about the shooting, but gets nothing of interest.

One night, Daniel gets a call from Stephanie (Anna Lise Phillips). She can’t sleep because of the rain. He asks her about visiting. She confesses that she isn’t ready to see him yet. She admits she knows about the murder. The next day, Simon (Remy Hii) takes Daniel out for a ride. Daniel is terrified that Simon is going to ruin his vehicle. Daniel is confident he’ll be safe back at the boat. Simon tells Daniel that he still has more to learn from him. When Simon leaves, Daniel visits the shooting scene. He looks around from the boat and recalls the moment he realized he had been shot. Later that night, Daniel goes for a drink. He runs into Grace (Jolene Anderson). One thing leads to another and they end up spending the night on Daniel’s boat.

The following morning, Sherry Diallo (Amali Golden) goes to a store for a smoothie. She gets antsy and tries to steal one. She goes after a woman with a knife. Meanwhile, Daniel and Grace learn that they work at the same place. At work, Daniel learns that Grace is Dr. Fairly’s niece. Daniel is set to be Grace’s supervisor. Maxine isn’t willing to let Daniel return to work right away. He needs a psych evaluation first. She tells him to look over his old case files. He does, but gets nothing of interest. Grace gets her own office. Daniel pays her a visit. They speak about Grace’s uncle. They agree to end their relationship right then and there. Jacob Diallo (Pacharo Mzembe) arrives. Daniel speaks to him. Sherry has been killed by police. Daniel tells Jacob what to expect.

Fern and Callan (Hunter Page-Lochard) move into an apartment. Fern is concerned that her job won’t pay for the rent. Callan promises that they’ll make it. He has been making money on the side. Harrow attends Sherry’s autopsy. He speaks with Lyle Fairly (Darren Gilshenan). They spar back and forth before Grace asks Harrow to leave. Simon helps Daniel hack into Lyle’s computer. Daniel finds a eulogy for his funeral. He isn’t impressed. He cannot find a video of the police shooting Sherry. Simon shows him what has been uploaded online. Daniel wonders why the woman was so adamant to get her drink. He visits Jacob and asks him about Sherry’s health at the time. Daniel learns that Sherry got hooked on all types of drinks after giving birth.

Jacob says it took four times to get the epidural in, but everything else went fine. Nichols follows Harrow. He reminds Daniel that he isn’t working. He also gives Daniel advice for passing the psych exam. Daniel gives it a try. He is given permission to return to work. Nichols tells Daniel that they’ve found his shooter. He is allowed to watch an interview with Brendan Skene (Erroll Shand). Daniel doesn’t seem convinced that Skene was responsible. Maxine tells Daniel that he can return to work on Monday. He looks at Sherry’s body right away. Grace enters. Daniel confesses he believes Grace might have missed something. They go for a drink and discuss the case together. They believe Sherry might have had polydipsia or an unquenchable thirst.

Daniel suggests Sherry might have had a clot that dissolved. They check her again and confirm it is true. Daniel believes the epidural might have been responsible. Daniel gives Jacob the news. Grace goes to Maxine. She confesses that she only came to her conclusions thanks to Daniel. Maxine tells her that it is up to her whether or not she wants to learn from Daniel. Skene arrives dead. He had diabetes and never told the correctional officers. Daniel checks his eyes. Skene had cataracts. Daniel is more convinced than ever that Skene did not shoot him. Simon gives Daniel a recording of Fairly practicing for the eulogy. Then, he gets a call from an unknown number. It is the guy who shot him.

The stranger tells Daniel that he is going to enjoy bringing down those around him. Fern finds Fentanyl Citrate pills in the closet. Cops burst through the door and the episode ends.

 

Harrow Review

I had mixed opinions about the previous season of Harrow. I did like it, but there were plenty of episodes that were fairly disappointing. This season is just getting started. However, I feel like it might be more intense this time around. I hope the writers focus a lot more on the mystery man and Daniel’s shooting. That will definitely make the new season more interesting. I did enjoy this episode. I’d give it a 7 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Harrow now!
