As the episode begins, George (Erik Thomson) wakes up Woody (Rick Donald) with tea. Smiler (David Fane) has put together a video to show Tracey when they return to Weld. Then, we jump ahead three days. The group meets with Jan (Bridie Carter) at her office. They tell her about the plan, before taking a group picture. Meanwhile, Shay (Melina Vidler) leaves Arlo (Benson Jack Anthony) and Lindsay (Manon Blackman) at home to jog in the rain. She is joined by Ollie (Henry Beasley) against her will. Tracey (Emma Leonard) learns that there is going to be a problem with Katie (Anne Jullienne) teaching. She’ll need to get her license renewed. Woody and the others continue their journey. They eventually arrive. Woody is surprised to see Mary (Rachel Carpani) looking so good.

Woody soon learns that he has a daughter, Poppy (Jessica Redmayne). Woody freaks out and rushes outside. Katie and Tracey head to the police station to get her license fixed. Hannah (Cian Elyse White) learns about the beetroot incident. Katie still owes a fine. At this point, Katie also learns about Woody’s pretend conference. She immediately realizes she is going to have a tough time keeping it from Tracey. Woody is awkward with his daughter while the guys enjoy a burger. George speaks with Mary about her relationship with Woody. Mary explains that she isn’t asking Woody for anything. Ollie and Shay return. She agrees to let him take a shower. Monty (Jonny Brugh) and Siouxsie (Olivia Tennet) visit. They explain that their home has a leaky roof, due to Woody.

Siouxsie manages to run Ollie off. She explains that she was his babysit, so she has plenty of embarrassing stories about him. George tries to calm Woody. When they return to the pub, Woody has the intention of speaking with Poppy. Eventually, he does. He discovers that she is good with her hands. They work together to repair a door. Back in Weld, Tracey continues believing Woody’s lies. For the moment, Katie is stopped from spilling the beans. Mary tells George that she wanted Poppy to know that the man behind the stories was real. That is why she decided to let Poppy meet Woody. Shay agrees to let Monty and Siouxsie stay at her place for a bit. Siouxsie also tells Shay that Ollie had a girl he liked and he enjoyed her being mean to him. Woody tells George all about Poppy.

Back in Weld, Arlo and Shay enjoy dinner with their guests. Tracey eats with Katie. At this time, Tracey learns about Woody’s lies. Mary finally signs the divorce papers. Woody also gets his mother’s ring back from her. He lets her keep the wedding ring to ward off the truckers. Before leaving, Woody comes up with a plan. He decides to bring Poppy back to Weld with him. Mary and Poppy both agree with the idea. George tells Woody that he’ll need to tell Tracey the truth. When they return to Weld, he does just that. Things do not go well, Woody is thrown out of the house.

Woody moves into George’s house with the others. They agree that the plan did not go according to plan.

 

800 Words Review

This episode of 800 Words was a little cheesy, but that is to be expected. Still, it was one of the best episodes this season. It was fun to see Woody interact with his daughter. Sadly, he has potentially ruined his relationship with Tracey. Will he be able to win her back in future episodes? I am sure he will. This episode scores a 7.5 out of 10.
