800 Words Series 2 Finale Recap

800 words series 2 finale

As the finale begins, the townsfolk begin reading George’s column about the restaurant. Big Mac (Peter Elliott) isn’t happy in the least. George (Erik Thomson) speaks with Shay (Melina Vidler) and Arlo (Benson Jack Anthony) about the restaurant. Again, he insists it doesn’t fit in Weld. George doesn’t believe Terry (Ditch Davey) will be upset with the column, since it didn’t criticize the food. Robbie (Millen Baird) meets with Tom (John Leigh) at the restaurant. They discover that the painting has gone missing. At the office, Big Mac threatens to fire George, if he doesn’t convince Terry to stick around. Ollie (Henry Beasley) tells Shay about his encounter with Tom. He promises that everything will be fine with the painting. George visits Hannah (Cian Elyse White) only to find that Terry isn’t there.

Tracey (Emma Leonard) and Terry speak with the numpties. Terry tells them that the program is over, since he has been forced out of business. Outside, Terry tells Arlo that George is right. Terry encourages Arlo not to listen to his father. George visits the restaurant and nearly gets thrown out by Robbie. Terry interrupts. Terry tells George that he has been hired by a prince from Saudi Arabia. He won’t be able to take Hannah. George encourages Terry to tell Hannah right away. Hannah visits the restaurant and finds it empty. Shay learns that Katie (Anna Jullienne) was questioned by Tom. Big Mac and Jan (Bridie Carter) chat about George. Jan insists that Big Mac needs George. Zac (Rob Kipa-Williams) and Steve (Mark Ferguson) interrupt. They insist that they want to be in the children’s lives. They’re promptly ran off by Billy Jnr (Paul Glover) and Big Mac.

Hannah runs into Woody (Rick Donald) on the beach. She beats herself up for falling for Terry’s scheme. Woody gives her support and takes her home. Monty (Jonny Brugh) gets and urgent call from Siouxsie (Olivia Tennet). At the gas station, Ollie tells Ike (Alex Tarrant) about his relationship with Shay. Ike speaks with Shay at the painting shop. He tells her that Ollie isn’t a good guy. Shay doesn’t listen and insists she will date whoever she pleases. Woody and Hannah run into George and Terry at home. Terry tells Hannah the story about the Saudi prince. After a brief argument, Terry leaves with his belongings. Siouxsie fetches Fiona (Michelle Langstone). Moments later, Fiona and Robbie sign the paperwork to sell their home. Katie meets with Rae (Nathalie Boltt). She learns that Rae wants to go into business with her. She wants Katie to continue making Dennis paintings. Woody and Hannah tell Tracey about Terry.

Terry returns to George’s house. Terry admits that the prince story is a scam. They agree to have a cook off. Hannah receives comfort at the boat club. Arlo and Shay learns that the family is going out for dinner. Ike, Steve and Zac go out on the boat. The girls comfort Hannah. They also question Fiona about her relationship with George. Tracey is told that Woody is the perfect bloke. Shay interrupts. She speaks with Katie outside. Katie tells her that she told Rae no, even though it might ruin her business. On the way back, Ollie stops Shay. Ollie asks Shay out that night. She promises to text, but Ollie doesn’t seem to believe her. Tracey returns home to discover that Woody has cooked dinner. Meanwhile, Big Mac enjoys dinner with his family and Jan. Katie gets rid of all of her Dennis paintings. She tells her son that everything will be fine. George and his family go to the restaurant.

Terry tells George that he made the right choice bringing his kids to Weld. Fiona calls Hannah and wishes her happy birthday. Then, Fiona gets a visit from a drunken Robbie. Robbie tells her that he wants to have kids. Meanwhile, Terry and George want Arlo and Shay to judge their macaroni and cheese dishes. George gets an urgent call from Tom. Big Mac encourages Jan to move in with him permanently. Tracey asks Woody to marry her. He asks the same question and she says yes. When she leaves the room, he calls himself an idiot. George and the kids make it to the beach. They discover that the boat has capsized and the three men are missing.

800 Words Review

The finale of 800 Words was okay. The back and forth between George and Terry was a little annoying honestly. George pushed and pushed and pushed, until he finally got what he wanted. It was clear from early on that Ike would be the one missing. That will give the writers a chance to push Ike and Shay back together in the next season. Oh boy. It feels like we’re going in circles. It also seems that Woody might be hiding something. Was he previously married?

Sadly, the finale really concluded nothing. There are now more questions than ever. It scores a 6 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of 800 Words now!
