Millions have taken the test hoping to find true love. Despite people being with their scientific soul mates, they have secrets. Some of those secrets are more shocking and deadlier than others. The One is set five minutes in the future when all of this is possible.

Although the idea is simple, the implications are explosive and the concept should make for an interesting television series. Howard Overman is serving as creator, writer, and executive producer for the UK drama The One.

Hannah Ware stars as Rebecca, the impulsive CEO and founder of MatchDNA which helps people find their soulmates. Dimitri Leonidas plays James who is Rebecca’s best friend and co-founder of MatchDNA.

James left the company under mysterious circumstances at the height of its success and only Rebecca knows why. Wilf Scolding will play Ethan who is Rebecca’s partner and one-half of the face of MatchDNA. Amir El-Masry, Stephen Campbell Moore, Diarmaid Murtagh, Lois Chimimba, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Pallavi Sharda, Zoe Tapper, and Gregg Chillin have also been cast for The One.
