The episode begins with Pippa Walsh (Jodie Tyack) reminding Pop (Lalor Roddy) of his being short. Opening the container, Pop asks if she’s satisfied. After the deal is complete, she starts out the door when a necklace with the name, “Jamie” catches her eye.

Pippa collects the container from the security scanner when Officer T. Beaker (Warren James Dunning) asks what is in it. After she sets it on the counter, he pops open the lid to see a stash of drugs. She shakes her head in disbelief before walking away with the container.

Pippa enters a room with drugs.

A fresh-faced boy (Jonathan O’Brien O’Riordan) uses drugs while working.

Vivian Lim (Thaddea Graham) tells Jamie Walsh (Oscar Kennedy) that Sophia Leigh (Alice Nokes) should at least talk to him since he saved her life. Jamie assures her that he tried but she’s afraid. She says Sophia should be with a killer on the ship. He claims to have been very close to identifying the killer. She asks if he believes it’s the officer with the fish tattoo. He shrugs his shoulders when Officer Karen Macintyre (Harriet Webb) announces the captain’s ball. Karen says that they can score some “sexy tips” if they’re lucky. Officer Sam Rhodes (Louis Boyer) explains how the attendees are seated.

Sophia asks Jamie if he contacted the police because they’re in route. After informing her of Danny (Jack Rowan) being murdered, Jamie says Velorum lied about his jumping. He warns her that the killer wasn’t after Danny but her before suggesting she report it to the police. She tells him no as the fresh-faced boy falls from a ladder. Karen a shakedown of the ship and crew. Jamie suggests Pippa’s case will be reopened if Danny’s murder surfaces.

Vivian and Jamie discuss what they’ll do if the ship shuts down. A crew member gives Vivian a tray to deliver to a guest.

Cormac Kelly (Peter Claffey) watches the shakedown from his cabin. Hurriedly slipping out of the room, he runs into Sam who asks where he’s headed. Cormac claims he’s supposed to be on shift. Sam orders him to stay put before heading down the hallway. Cormac takes off.

A commotion in room 203 gets Jamie’s attention. When he places his ear against the door, two giddy girls and a guy emerge. Jamie turns around to be face-to-face with Olly Reyes (Anthony Rickman).

After suggesting the fish tattoo is Beaker, Olly claims he forced Amy to fart in a jar. Jamie questions what he just said. After saying he probably collects them, Olly asks where “old-fashioned kinks” go. Jamie asks if he has a lot of them. Olly reminds him of Pippa before asking who is he. Jamie kisses him. When Olly repeats the questions, Jamie jumps on top of him. Olly quickly flips him onto his back when Beaker barges in.

Nile (Ned Costello) warns Vivian that the food better not be cold. Vivian looks over to see Lily (Ramanique Ahluwalia) sitting on the sofa. Nile asks if the lobster is farm-raised. She sarcastically suggests he ask the lobster before asking if he wants it taken away. He asks Lily if she’s witnessing it. Lily tells him that he’s acting like a “prick.” When he threatens to make a call, Vivian informs him that there are two “I’s” in her name. After he walks away, Lily claims her mum picks wealthy men. Vivian describes herself as a “giver.” Lily assures her that she’ll take care of Nile.

Cormac hides when he spots Rosie (Miya Ocego) in the hallway. When she walks in his direction, he takes off.

Beaker shakes down the cabin. Olly admits to flushing his weed before he barged in. Jamie whispers, “Should we not poke the bear.” Olly gets in Beaker’s face as Jamie retrieves a black mask off the floor. Beaker orders them to put on their tux before heading to the ballroom. Olly invites Jamie to hang out later. Jamie promises to catch up with him later. Olly says he hopes to find him first as Jamie rushes out.

Detective Martinez (Marcia Lecky) enters the Velorum VIP Lounge to speak with Henry Allan (Donald Sage Mackay). Allan informs her that the young crew members like to blow off steam. He claims Danny was drunk when he enters an area that was off-limits. She asks what the CCTV footage show. He says about 5am, Danny was barely able to stand. She questions how Danny was able to get passed patrol if he could barely stand. He assures her that Velorum will cooperate with the investigation.

Giving the black mask to Vivian, he says Olly attacked Sophia. She asks if Olly is getting close to him because he murdered Danny. He reminds her that the police are on board.

Cormac admits to Rose that he came aboard for her. She reminds him that he bailed after they agreed to come aboard together. He asks if it’s necessary to talk about it there. She tells him that he can say it in front of Gloria P Hole (Rory O’Neill) who forces him to leave.

Lauren Thompson (Amber Grappy) informs Jamie and Vivian that the police want to speak with anyone affiliated with Danny. Jamie reminds her that they didn’t know each other. She says it gets her away from work for a bit.

Martinez asks if Olly goes by another name. Jamie informs her that he works at the Wacky Burger. When she suggests questioning Sophia, he warns her that she’s afraid. She asks if Pippa was involved in it. After informing her that Pippa, Danny, and Sophia were friends when she disappeared last year, he says Danny’s body is evidence of a killer on the ship. She assures him that calling the police was the right thing to do.

After claiming they’ve been selling drugs, Sophia assures them that Beaker will pin it on her. She says the entertainers earn special privileges while the offers make a lot of money. Vivian asks if she’s referring to the same officers doing the shakedown. Sophia says the agreement was the Filipinos sell to the crew and the officers the guests, but they got greedy. Jamie suggests Olly is affiliated with the Filipino mafia, which explains why he attacked her. She claims the officers refuse to let her quit. He asks if she can buy some time by getting rid of the drugs. She assures him that it would be impossible for her to get past the cameras. Holding up Olly’s mask, he tells her that he’ll do it if she talks to the police.

Olly looks up to see Martinez standing in front of him. She admits her visit is just to get a look at him. When she leaves, he jerks off his hat before walking away.

Jamie asks if Pippa lost interest in the perks of selling drugs. After describing Pippa as a “ruthless shit lord” that made many enemies, Sophia claims she was paranoid. He suggests she feared the mafia. She asks why he’s doing it. He admits to really liking Olly who lied to him before telling her where to meet him later.

Jamie removes the drugs from the lockers when a camera is activated.

Lauren asks Vivian what she thinks of Jerome Dupont (Diego Andres). Vivian describes him as “handsome enough” before saying his penis has a nickname. When Lauren says he’s sweet, Vivian reminds her that she has a fiancé. Lauren tells Jerome that he looks fresh. He says she looks fresh as well. She claims to look like a “netted rump roast” before walking away. Vivian looks over to see Lily. Abigail Cochrane (Davina Moon) scolds Lily for flirting with the steward.

Martinez tells Allan that she would like to see Danny’s body. Vivian leaves when she sees Cormac. Allan introduces Sam to Martinez. Vivian scolds Cormac for leaving the cabin. He tells her that the officers were raiding cabins. She warns him that he’ll ruin everything if the officers catch him. He tells her that is what he does. She forces him into a locker. Sofia asks why she’s there. Vivian reminds her that she’s supposed to meet Jamie. Sophia says tell Jamie it’ll never happen. Vivian describes her as a “terrible person” before walking out.

Jamie flushes the drugs down the toilet when Olly approaches.

After telling Martinez that Danny was trouble, Allan suggests keeping it under wraps until it’s safe. He warns her of what it’ll do to the 3,000 guests and crew before assuring her their shareholders would be appreciative. She says $100K. When they agree on $80K, he tosses a chip on Danny’s chest.

Cormac is in the locker when Sam stops by to have sex with Sophia

Jamie warns Olly that there are police on the ship. Olly claims the plan was only to frighten Sophia. Jamie asks if he’s confessing. Olly tells him that no one can deny the mafia. Jamie reminds him of Danny. Olly denies the mafia had anything to do with Danny’s death. Jamie asks to see The Baby (Francis Flores). Olly informs him that The Baby’s not the Filipino mafia leader when Dolce Rodriguez (Georgia Goodman) approaches. Jamie and Olly are restrained while Dolce shows them a dead rat. As she prepares to hit Jamie’s hand with a hammer, Olly says the police are investigating Danny’s death, not the drugs. She describes Olly as a “good boy” before telling Jamie that they didn’t kill Danny.

Cormac admits to Rosie that he lied about numerous things. He assures her that their relationship is real. He suggests they forget about Jamie’s money before confessing his feelings to her.

Danny’s body is removed from the ship’s morgue. Jamie asks Martinez what she’s doing. Martinez assures him that it’s under control. He informs her that Olly wasn’t the killer before identifying Pippa as his sister. She walks away when he warns her that the killer’s still on the ship. He tells her that they’re all involved in a drug war. She suggests he not sail further than he can row back.

Lily joins Vivian on the stairs.

Jerome tells Lauren that her fiancé is a lucky man. She informs him that Daronte broke up with her at the airport. He agrees to finish the dishes so she can go to bed. She kisses him on the cheek before leaving.

Vivian and Lily kiss during the fireworks.

Approaching Jerome from behind, an unknown assailant places a bag over his head.

Cormac informs Jamie that he may have found Danny’s killer. Vivian says it’s Sam.

Jerome comes through in a dark room. He hides only to be shot in the head with what appears to be a spear. The killer drags his body across the floor as the episode comes to an end.

Wreck Review

Jamie continued to investigate Pippa’s death. During a shakedown, he discovered the mask involved in Sophia’s attack in Olly’s cabin. He made a pact with Sophia to destroy the drug stash and she’d tell her story to the police. He followed through with his promise while she backed out.

Olly came clean to Jamie about Sophia’s attack. He told him that the Filipino mafia ordered him to frighten, not kill Sophia. Dolce is the leader of the Filipino mafia. She denied killing Jamie.

Sophia informed Jamie that the Filipinos and officers are in a drug war. The officers faltered on their agreement to only sell drugs to the guests.

Vivian and Lily spend time together.

Cormac and Rosie rekindled their relationship. He identified the officer with the fish tattoo while hiding in a locker. He saw the fish tattoo on Sam’s leg while he had sex with Sophia.

It turned out that detective Martinez could be paid off. Allan agreed to pay her $80K to keep Danny’s murder silent until the ship reaches the shore.

The killer targeted Jerome while he was watching dishes. He is shot in the head with what appears to be a spear.

A fulfilling episode that has its moments. Not much has changed as far as the cinematography. Some scenes are nearly ruined by the poor video quality. The dark scenes are always grainy and blurry.

Jerome’s death was by far the most cringeworthy scene so far. They’re trying to achieve an awe factor, which didn’t happen for me.

The episode deserves a 6.5. Get more Wreck recaps here. Support Reel Mockery by clicking the link.
