allie top dog wentworth season 8

As the episode begins, Lou Kelly (Kate Box) and Reb Keane (Zoe Terakes) go shopping for jewelry. Instead of buying something, they end up stealing items and running from the store. They get into a struggle with a parking guard of sorts outside before getting into the vehicle, kissing, and speeding away from the scene. As they try to escape, their vehicle is sideswiped by a taxi leaving Reb hurt. Lou refuses to leave her boyfriend so she stays with Reb and both are arrested as a result. After the intro, Will Jackson (Robbie Magasiva) tells the other guards about Lou and her partner Reb so they can be ready for their arrival. Will says Allie Novak (Kate Jenkinson) will take care of things on her side of the bars and they need to do the same.

As Lou and Reb are transported on a prisoner bus, they’re harassed by another prisoner as well as a fly. Once they arrive at the prison, Lou takes it out on the prisoner by bashing her face against the window and the fly. Linda Miles (Jacqueline Brennan) and other guards subdue Kelly and take her into the prison. Reb and Kelly are separated at this point and Jake (Bernard Curry) leads Kelly to isolation. Boomer (Katrina Milosevic) watches as Kelly is led through the halls and immediately realizes they’re going to have trouble. She goes to Allie and warns her that Kelly is going to create issues for them but Allie isn’t willing to judge her beforehand.

Boomer says Lou takes the pinky fingers belonging to other prisoners but Allie still doesn’t listen. Will speaks with the new general manager of the prison about Lou and other things. The GM believes Will can use the opportunity to prove himself. Linda Miles makes Reb strip naked and this reminds her of being harassed when she younger. Lou waits in her cell while Jake checks on Marie Winter (Susie Porter). Marie is taken out to the yard so she can walk around while Dr. Greg Miller (David de Lautour) tells Will that he won’t be able to keep her in isolation forever. Will tells Greg he should do whatever he needs to do as long as he doesn’t have to deal with it. Will gets a message that Novak wants to speak with him. He meets with her and Allie explains that Lou needs to be put in her place now before she starts problems.

Allie is taken to Lou’s cell so she can confront her and make sure she isn’t going to cause problems. Meanwhile, new General Manager Ann Reynolds (Jane Hall) sits down with Vera Bennett (Kate Atkinson) in hopes of convincing her to return to work soon. When they leave, Joan Ferguson (Pamela Rabe) snaps pictures of Vera from a distance. Lou tells Allie that she is responsible for Reb being in prison and she’ll do anything for her. Ruby (Rarriwuy Hick) looks at a picture of herself with Rita (Leah Purcell). Meanwhile, Rita hangs out with an ankle monitor around her leg. She wants to make a phone call but can’t because that would give away her location. She needs to sign her statement against the former attorney general. She is told that they’re going to try to prove that Jones and his partner were running her on a rogue operation.

If they can, she might be able to negotiate a suspended sentence. Rita is hanging out with someone else and she is worried that he is going to spill the beans. She signs the paperwork and hangs it back to her attorney. Meanwhile, Ferguson visits WorkConnect and pretends to be Kath Maxwell. She goes outside and withdraws money from her account before a stranger, Joe, runs into her. He says he thought she was a friend he hadn’t seen for ages. The friend had the same name but Ferguson says it isn’t her. Winter is moved to protection and she spots Reb. Will visits Lou and tells her she is going to be moving into general and she has Allie to thank for that. Boomer tries to tell Ruby and Allie that Lou is going to cause problems but Allie believes she only wants to hang out with her boyfriend.

Boomer doesn’t understand that but Allie sends out the word that nobody should bother Lou or Reb. That night, Reb hears chaos outside of her cell and sees a woman with bloody hands. Another inmate has been beaten bloody. Marie checks on Reb and finds her distraught. She introduces herself and tries to get to know more about Reb. Marie promises to sort anyone out who tries to give Reb trouble. She invites Reb to come out and eat but Reb doesn’t want to go out there. Marie agrees to get dinner for them. Lou is released and she joins Allie and the others in the cafeteria. Lou sits with Allie and her crew. Lou says she just heard about Liz and she was like a mom to her. She says Boomer did something beautiful for Liz.

Jake and Will watch from outside. Reb tells Marie about Lou and her short fuse. Then, Marie tells Reb about her son being murdered. Marie says she’ll be next door if Reb ever wants some company. The following day, Ann and Vera arrive at the jail with Grace. Despite Ann and Linda’s worries, Vera takes her baby inside of the gate and lets Boomer hold her. After that, Ann tells Vera about her new ideas for the prison. Ann reveals that Will isn’t going to last long because someone has to take responsibility for the siege. Vera isn’t happy about that but Ann isn’t going to change her mind. Vera isn’t sure she is ready to take on the responsibility of returning to work just yet. Ferguson is shown hiding out in a shack near a railroad track and she has a lot of pictures of Vera. She has been following Vera’s path for several days.

Marie gets a visit from her attorney and learns that they’ll drop the charges related to the siege as long as she testifies against the attorney general. Marie says she wants that pedophile locked up forever and she wants a chance to get released. Greg Miller visits Reb and tells her that she is going to be moved into the same unit as Lou. Reb is asked why she didn’t talk to pyshcs and she remembers being forced to go through gay conversion therapy. Ferguson goes to a travel agency and the woman behind the encounter believes she recognizes her. Ferguson is booking a trip to Rio. Will finds Vera at the jail and checks on her baby. They chat about Vera’s relationship with Ann and their time at uni together. Will admits he doesn’t want to start again elsewhere anymore. Marie checks on Reb and finds out that she is going to be moving cells.

She speaks with Reb about her sex reassignment surgery and learns that it is going to cost around 40 grand. Marie believes she can help her raise that money if Reb kills someone for her. She wants her to kill Ruby and she doesn’t care how it happens. After that, Lou reunites with Reb. They go outside together and Ruby invites Reb to play basketball while Boomer asks a lot of dumb questions. Lou doesn’t like that but doesn’t do anything to Boomer. Ferguson hears someone with their dog outside of her shack later that night. Back at the prison, Boomer is attacked by Lou as her crew watches. The crew holds Boomer down while Lou puts a bag over Boomer’s head until she urinates on herself. Boomer is allowed to live. She cries on the ground before complaining to Allie about what happened and being ignored previously.

Allie tells Boomer that she did the right thing for Liz. She tells Ruby that they need to take down Lou. Ferguson wakes up in the morning and washes her face. She gets ready and heads out while Vera takes care of her baby. She gets a visit from Ann who has drinks. She invites Vera to come back to the prison as the industries manager. She says that can ease Vera back into it and her baby can come with her. Ann promises to give her any support she needs. Vera agrees to help but Will have to stay on as governor because he is respected by the staff and women. Ann agrees with that. Marie and Rita learn that the disgraced attorney general has been found dead in his cell. Allie and her crew approach Lou Kelly and Reb. Allie intends to punish her. Reb is grabbed from behind and Lou Kelly is placed down on the table.

Allie grabs a pair of snips and threatens to cut off Lou’s pinky finger. Lou doesn’t apologize to Boomer and she doesn’t think Allie will go through with it. After a little more back and forth, Allie cuts Lou’s pinky off. Ferguson goes to her mailbox and opens an envelope. She finds passports for herself and Grace inside.

Wentworth Review

This episode wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great either. It is getting more and more farfetched and hard to believe. The Reb and Lou Kelly characters are completely different from the originals and I think they’re going to steal the spotlight this season. Lou entered the prison and immediately had a small crew. They were there when Boomer was attacked but they didn’t help her when Allie struck back. I find that a bit odd. I think the Ferguson storyline is a bit over the top too.

It is already hard enough to believe that Joan is still alive. Is she really going to steal a baby and flee Australia? We’ll see. I may just stop adding my personal opinions down here and just recap the episodes simply because I don’t think it is very good any longer. 1. Joan will get caught trying to steal Vera’s baby and surprise surprise wind up back in Wentworth. It’s the only logical way to continue the show.

  2. Oct 2020– I just binge watched Season 8.. I liked it alot and liked the new characters as well. And I don’t think the Joan Ferguson storyline is over the top, but just enough to keep you interested right to the last minute. Now i can’t wait for more..

    1. Just finished it myself. I was hoping they would’ve done something different with Joan. I’ll keep watching for the Marie, Lou, and Reb scenes. I like those characters the best right now.
