Tom Hanks ‘A Man Called Otto’ To Hit LA & NY Theaters On Christmas Day

SF Studios announced its collaboration with legendary Hollywood actor, Tom Hanks” in January 2022. Tom Hanks (Cast Away, Forrest Gump, Toy Story) will portray the protagonist, Otto Anderson in “A Man Called Otto.”

The 66-year-old will be joined by Tokyo Vice actor, Rachel Keller, Mariana Trevino (Legacy of Lies, Jacir, From the Heart), and Garcia-Rulfo (Murder on the Orient Express, The Lincoln Lawyer, Sweet Girl).

Otto is far from the typical neighbor. After the death of his wife and unscheduled retirement, the 60-year-old has given up on life. As the cantankerous widower is ready to end it all, the high-spirited Marisol moves her likewise family in next door.

“A Man Called Otto,” directed by Marc Forster,” is an adaptation of the Swedish novel “A Man Called Ove” by David Magee.

The 126minute drama-comedy is scheduled for a limited release, opening in Los Angeles and New York theaters on December 25. A wide-scale release is scheduled for Friday, January 13, 2023.

Where Was A Man Called Otto Filmed

The highly anticipated Tom Hanks movie was filmed in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, more specifically, the Sewickley Cemetery, Monroeville Senior Citizens Center, and Max’s Allegheny Tavern. Other filming locations include the Central Union Terminal in Toledo, Ohio, and Cuyahoga Valley Nation Park and Brecksville Station Cuyahoga Scenic Railroad, both in Brecksville, Ohio.
