Earlier this week, the BBC announced it had renewed four of its best dramas. Led by Jamie Dornan, The Tourist quickly became one of the most popular dramas on BBC’s iPlayer. Dornan stared alongside Danielle Macdonald and Shalom Brune-Franklin. After a car accident in the outback, the man (Jamie Dornan) wakes up in an Australian hospital with no recollection of what has happened. He goes on a winding journey in an attempt to reclaim his memory although he may prefer to forget it once again.
The Tourist was a ratings success in Australia, Britain, and the United States. Other shows being renewed include the copper drama The Responder, Vigil, and Time. The Responder follows bent cop Chris Carson (Martin Freeman) as he finds himself in a mess with a local drug dealer while trying to help a local junkie. The series also starred Warren Brown, Ian Hart, Emily Fairn, Josh Finan, and Adelayo Adedayo.
The Responder aired on BBC One in the UK before hitting the international stage with streaming services and networks BritBox US, Disney+ Italy, Canal+, SB Australia, Viasat, Pickbox, and more. In Vigil, Suranne Jones goes underwater as Amy Silva as she boards a nuclear submarine to investigate a mysterious death. The series also featured Rose Leslie, Paterson Joseph, Adam James, and Shaun Evans. Vigil became the most-watched drama launch since Bodyguard with an audience exceeding 13 million viewers for the first episode over 30 days.
Finally, fans will return to prison with the intense prison series Time. The first series stared Stephen Graham and Sean Bean as it tackled corrupt prison guards, prison violence, and redemption. The second series will be set in a female prison with a new cast.

Each of these shows: The Responder, Vigil, The Tourist and Time were just utterly enjoyable. Good job they were all renewed.
Definitely look forward to them. There are still plenty of possibilities for each series. Will be interesting to see if Time is like Wentworth or more serious. And, whatever Chris Carson gets himself into next! Next up is The Split on the 3rd or 4th.
