Full On Gangsta – The show begins with Thony (Elodie Yung) and Fiona De La Rosa (Martha Millan) cleaning a hotel room. In the meantime, Marco De La Rosa (Ivan Shaw) is playing craps in a casino. He places another bed while Fiona assures Thony he will be home soon. Thony whispers, “Where are you Marco” as a bouncer tosses a drunken, pugnacious Marco out the casino door.
Thony treats Marco’s wound while he apologizes for gambling and getting in a scuffle. He accuses her of taking money from a gangster. She reminds him it is about him, not Arman Morales (Adan Canto). He doesn’t like her to judge him. She says you shouldn’t come to Vegas. When she tells him to go home, he refuses to be separated from Luca De La Rosa (Sebastien LaSalle/Valentino LaSalle) again. He hands a token from the casino worth $25K after she accuses him of stealing Luca’s money.
Fiona informs Thony of Marco sleeping off his drunken stupor. She accredits him getting Luca’s money back. Thony assures her it isn’t about the money it is more about who he has become. Fiona suggests she be more supportive. She tells her about their nearly losing their home and car due to Marco’s gambling habits. They lost friendships because Marco didn’t repay borrowed money. Fiona asks if she has given up on him. She tells her liver transplant is all she can think about right now.
FBI Agent Garrett Miller (Oliver Hudson) asks ASAC Katherine Russo (Liza Well) if the ATF will raid the farm, where Arman’s guns are stored. He is concerned about the ATF raid harming the Barsamian case. She reminds him what ATF stands for. He pleads with her to give him more time to link Hayak Barsamian ((Navid Negahban) and Arman to the illegal guns. He reminds her of how long he has been working on the Barsamian case. Holding up his hand for a high-five, he tells her he just needs time to get Thony to lure Arman to the farm.
Thony arrives at work to speak with Arman in private. She informs him about a Mexican hospital that will perform Luca’s liver transplant surgery for $40K. She asks if he could talk to Bosco (Rocko Reyes) about smuggling them back into the United States. He tells her it is dangerous to travel with human smugglers like coyotes. She says it is their only option. He asks if Marco will be traveling with them. She says no before informing him of there not being enough money to cover the surgery. He reminds her of his promise to pay for Luca’s operation. She asks about the gun deal. He can’t make any sudden moves, with the FBI on his tail.
He agrees to cover the $40K. She questions if the feds could watch him in Mexico. Arman comes up with the idea to conduct the gun deal in Mexico. He offers to take her by jet if she can be ready to leave by morning. He has ties with the customs worker at the hangar.
Nadia Morales (Eva De Dominici) is working when Arman tells her about his plan. She has no interest in his “empty promises.” He pleads with her to listen what he has to say before telling her about his plan. She questions if Noah McPherson (Eric Ladin) will be on board with doing the gun deal in Mexico. He believes it would be easier to move the guns because Noah’s bunker is located in Chile. She asks if he still plans to give Thony $500K. He assures her all the money will be for their future. Smiling, she offers to pack a bag. He wants her to stay in Vegas, so Hayak does suspect anything unusual. She asks what he wants her to tell Hayak if he asks. He suggests telling him his aunt died.
Thony tells Marco about her plan to ride with Arman to Mexico and back. He refuses to permit her to go with Arman unless he accompanies them. Suggesting he act like a father, she says a calm, quiet environment is what Luca needs to heal. Fiona brings Luca in as Marco accuses her of not taking him because it would make Arman feel uncomfortable. Marco reminds Luca they are connected through their hearts. When Fiona tries to comfort Marco, he says it may be the last time he ever holds his son.
Luca, Dara Oum (Josette Canilao), and Thony arrive at the hangar, where Arman’s jet is parked. Luca is upset his father didn’t come with them. Arman distracts him by asking if he would like to take a ride in his own spaceship. He jumps with joy. As Arman carries Luca onto the plane, he receives a call from Hayak, which he ignores. They arrive at the hotel that services the nearby hospital. Arman checks in before leaving to conduct business. Taking their bags, a hotel bellhop (Ivan Hernandez) leads them to their rooms.
Thony meets with the surgeon (Rafael Velasquez) for a tour of the hospital. He tells her the hospital services a large clientele. She is concerned the hospital is not qualified to do Luca’s liver transplant. He assures her Luca is in capable hands.
Hayak visits the club to speak with Nadia. He questions her about Arman’s whereabouts. She tells him Arman’s aunt passed away. He asks which aunt. She says it was Ana, Eduardo’s sister.
Thony meets Arman for a drink while Luca and Dara sleep. He asks if she is happy to return to the Philippines after Luca’s surgery. She isn’t sure if it is her home anymore. He suggests she stay in Vegas. She wants to forget a lot of what happened in the city. When the music starts playing, he says she must dance to one of Mexico’s most beloved songs. He tells her the meaning of the song. After a kiss, she tells him goodnight and walks away.
Fiona is doing laundry when someone knocks on the door. She pulls back the curtain to find Garrett standing there. She threatens to call the police to have him removed. He apologizes for ordering the ICE raid. Opening the door, she asks if he cares that Gabby’s (Cosima Cabera) kids don’t have their mother. He apologizes but needs to see Thony. She tells him Thony is at work. He claims to be concerned about Thony’s welfare. Fiona orders him to get off her property. After peeking in a window, he calls Jeff to ask him to track Thony’s phone number.
Garrett meets Nadia to inquire about club membership. She informs him membership is only available through a referral or invitation. He tells her his co-workers are very familiar with the club. She asks about his job. He admits to being an FBI agent. She doesn’t seem to be fazed by his work. He informs her about Thony’s location in Mexico. She denies knowing anything about Thony being in Mexico. He suggests Thony is with her husband, Arman. She suggests he try the YMCA their club wouldn’t be a good fit. He laughs while walking away.
Irate, Nadia pours herself a drink before packing her bags. Hayak arrives to inform her of contacting Arman’s father to give them his condolences for the loss of his sister who just turned 70.
Arman promises to celebrate after Luca’s surgery is over. He receives a text from Hayak, ordering him to return to immediately return to Vegas. She asks if everything is okay. He tells her that he must return home. He promises to return to pick them up. Thony visits the surgeon who tells her Luca’s surgery has been rescheduled. She reminds him of paying upfront for the surgery. He assures her they will reschedule as soon as possible. She accuses him of taking another patient who offered to pay them more. He apologizes for the delay. Appalled, she tells him Luca could die if he doesn’t get the surgery soon.
Thony scrubs for the surgery. A nurse assists her with putting on a gown and her gloves. When the surgeon sees her hesitate, he asks if she can perform the surgery. She utilizes a scalpel to open Luca’s stomach. When she sutures his surgery wound, the surgeon tells her, “Good job, doctor.” Luca’s vitals are normal. She takes several deep breaths and breaks down sobbing.
Arman arrives at his home to see Nadia and Hayak sitting on the sofa. Hayak tells Arman he is very disappointed with him. Crying, Nadia accuses him of lying about his aunt dying. She accuses him of having an affair with Thony. Hayak asks if Nadia is telling the truth. He acknowledges she is telling the truth. She slaps him hard across the face. Hayak can’t believe Arman would cheat on such a magnificent lady like Nadia. He says it isn’t his business before leaving.
Carlos (Harold Nieves Fisch) is beating a man when Hayak arrives. He reminds the mind of who Hayak works for. He asks what Arman’s business in Mexico was before ordering Carlos to get Nadia. The man informs him that Aman was selling guns in Mexico. Hayak asks where the guns are now. He says they are on Highway 9 near the Paiute Reservation. Hayak thanks him for being honest while Arman is lying. Carlos asks the man about Arman before shooting him in the head.
Russo is waiting on Garrett when he arrives at her office. She informs him of the ATF’s decision to give him more time to connect Hayak and Arman to the illegal guns. She assures him that ATF will move in if he doesn’t work quickly. She accuses him of blowing it with his wife and the FBI. Laughing, he doesn’t like her cocktail conversations. She tells him he is difficult to like sometimes.
Thony tells Fiona that Luca’s surgery was the most difficult thing she has ever done. Fiona is happy for her. She informs her about Garrett’s visit.
Arman convinces Nadia to open the door, so they can talk. She blurts out about Garrett’s visit to the club, pretending to be interested in a membership. He assures her that he and Thony are not having an affair. She doesn’t believe Hayak’s continuous lies about Thony are about Luca.
Thony contacts Arman about Garrett’s visit to her house. As he walks toward his vehicle, it explodes, knocking him to the ground. She yells for Arman as the episode comes to an end.
The Cleaning Lady Review
By far, the best episode yet. As Arman believes he is getting closer to getting out of the business, Hayak is starting to figure out something just isn’t right. Has Nadia had enough of Arman’s lies or will the explosion make her realize she is in too deep?
I still feel the season could have been shortened by at least two episodes to remove the irrelevant filler.
The acting has always been great, with the fabulous Elodie Yung heading the casting crew. Oliver Hudson portrays a desperate FBI agent so well, it is difficult to like him. Like Katherine says, he is difficult to like sometimes.
The episode deserves a 7.5. Get more The Cleaning Lady recaps here. Support ReelMockery by clicking the link to learn more.
