Sullivan’s Crossing Season 2 Episode 6 Recap

The episode opens as Phoebe Lancaster (Lynda Boyd) and Andrew Mathews (Allan Hawco) arrive at the Outpost. Disappointedly stunned, Harry “Sully” Sullivan (Scott Patterson) assumes Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan) is responsible. Edna Cranebear (Andrea Menard) believed she would never see Phoebe again. Phoebe tries to be cordial to Frank Cranebear (Tom Jackson) but basically gets the same response. Maggie does her best to make them welcome.

Sully voices his disappointment in Maggie telling Phoebe and Walter (Peter Outerbridge) about his money woes. Frank and Edna warn him against getting all worked up. Sully refuses to borrow money from Phoebe and Walter when there are better options. Elsewhere, Andrew asks Maggie if his visit is at a bad time. She claims to be glad he came because they have things to discuss. Once alone, Phoebe questions how she is going to tell Maggie.

Sully tells Frank that Phoebe took Maggie away from him. Frank urges him to speak with Lola Gunderson (Amalia Williamson) when she suddenly appears. Lola informs Sully of her plan to sell Roy’s property to help pay his debt. He refuses to take her money. She reminds him of how he paid for her schooling and took care of her. He says Andrew and Phoebe are going to help and urges her to focus on Roy’s estate.

Sydney Shandon (Lindura) arrives at a crowded diner with only Rob Shandon (Reid Price) hard at work. She asks if it would be okay to store her things at his place until she is settled in New York. He attributes her reluctance to give Rafe Vadas (Dakota Taylor) a chance to the manager that she previously dated. She refuses to change her mind. He agrees to support her.

Cal Jones (Chad Michael Murray) tells Sully that Maggie isn’t speaking to him and every time they get close, she pulls back. Sully urges him to keep fighting for her. As Cal prepares to leave, Sully makes a sarcastic remark about Andrew and says he is visiting.

Fancy Cuts – Alysa (Michelle Nolden) suggests a new hairstyle to Connie Boyle (Lauren Hammersley). They briefly discuss Connie’s ex-husband, Tom who she never loved. Elsewhere, Phoebe tells Maggie that Walter was arrested for billing fraud and the FBI put a freeze on their bank accounts. Maggie gets upset when she realizes Andrew knew and never told her.

Cal tells Rob about Andrew and Phoebe’s visit. Rob suggests a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for The Crossing. He says Sydney has decided to go to New York to resume her modeling career. Maggie goes for a run to release her frustration. She calls Walter to ask if he is behind the billing fraud scheme. Before he can answer, she recalls how she looked up to him and accuses him of ruining everything she worked for before ending the call. She breaks down sobbing and crying.

Edna is still angry at Phoebe for taking Maggie away. Phoebe says they had to leave. Edna assures her that she and Frank would have helped them. Phoebe claims leaving the love of her life, Sully, was the most difficult thing she ever had to do. Sully approaches and asks why she returned to The Crossing. Phoebe says Walter was arrested and needed a place to stay before leaving.

Lola is feeling down about The Crossing and Roy’s estate. She tells Cal that she is not as strong as Maggie. He tries to cheer her by pointing out some of her strengths. He says Rob suggests a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for The Crossing.

Fancy Cuts – Alysa invites Connie to go out with her and a friend. Elsewhere, Andrew claims to have known about Walter’s arrest for several days. Maggie questions how she will ever trust anyone after what Walter did. He promises to be there for her and confesses to loving her. He kisses her and immediately apologizes.

Sully walks in as Phoebe is trying to book a flight home but fails. She tells Sully that Walter was running a billing fraud scheme at Maggie’s practice. He questions how she let Walter do that to Maggie. When he apologizes, she dares him to pretend like he cares about her. He denies wanting anything like that to happen to her or Maggie. He says she can stay but to not expect special treatment.

Sydney informs Finn Shandon (Zayn Maloney) of her decision to move to New York. He recalls her promise to stay. She assures him that she doesn’t want to hurt him. He asks if he can visit her in New York. She promises to take him sightseeing before they embrace. Elsewhere, Maggie is surprised to find Sully and Phoebe being civil. He says they made a truce. When talking to Andrew, Sully calls him Angelo. Andrew corrects him but attributes it to his memory loss. Sully asks if he and Maggie broke up when he was last there. Andrew claims to have been working on himself and hopes she will consider giving them a second chance.

Timber Lounge – Cal, Rob, and Rafe blow off steam by throwing an axe. Cal asks Rob if he is going to ask Jane (Cindy Sampson) out on a date. Rob suggests he is out of practice. Elsewhere, Andrew finds Maggie’s ultrasound photo in her purse. She assures him that he is the father. He is pleasantly surprised and promises to be there for her. Lola and Connie meet Alysa and Mac (Marietta Laan) for a drink.

Andrew blurts out that Maggie is pregnant. Phoebe is thrilled. Sully asks Maggie if she is happy. She says yes. At Timber Lounge, Connie tells Alysa that she and her parents don’t see eye to eye. Alysa suggests the fire department is like a family to her.

Andrew apologizes to Sully if he upset him in any way. Sully says they will never be family because he is not right for Maggie. Andrew urges him to get used to him and Maggie being together before going out for a drink. Phoebe tells Maggie that she and Sully grew apart because their goals had changed and he started drinking. She admits to being undecided about what to do about Walter.

Timber Lounge – Jane introduces Rob to Emily (Gil Anderson). Once alone, she invites him back to her place. A man (Craig Gunn) makes a snide comment to Connie about her sexual preference. She tells Lola that she isn’t feeling well. In a voicemail, Cal pleads with Maggie to let him explain why he doesn’t want kids. Andrew apologizes to Cal, Lola, and Rafe and treats them to some malt whiskey.

Phoebe and Sully share some ice cream. He hopes to be a better grandfather than a father. She assures him that he wasn’t a bad dad. He admits to being brokenhearted when she took Maggie away. She apologizes before he rushes off to bed.

Timber Lounge – Andrew tells Cal, Rafe, and Lola that he and Maggie are pregnant as the episode ends.

 

Sullivan’s Crossing Review

Andrew shows up unexpectedly with Phoebe. Maggie expects Phoebe and Walter to loan her money to pay Sully’s debt. She is devastated to learn Walter was running a billing scheme at her practice. The FBI arrested and charged him with fraud and put a freeze on the bank accounts. Sully, Edna, and Frank are none too happy with Phoebe because she took Maggie away from them.

Maggie tells Andrew about her pregnancy. Without consulting her, he tells Phoebe and Sully. Phoebe is ecstatic while Sully is glad to be a grandpa, he refuses to accept Andrew as part of his family. He tells Andrew that he isn’t right for Maggie. Andrew later informs Cal, Rafe, and Lois about the baby.

Connie is met with some criticism about her sexual preference. Tom’s acquaintance approaches her while she is out with Alysa, Lola, and Mac.
