Go Where You’re Needed – The episode begins with Jackson (Isaac Kragten) reading Laura Mohr (Camille Sullivan) a letter that Shoresy (Jared Keeso) wrote. Shortly into the letter, Shoresy shows up out of breath from just running a marathon. Laura doesn’t remember telling Shoresy that she would get with him if he ran a marathon but several flashbacks confirm she did. After Jackson finishes the letter, Laura tells Shoresy that they will have a sleepover.
Miigwan (Keilani Elizabeth Rose) the Bulldogs and Blueberry Buddies a dance routine. After this, they go to The Laughing Buddha to have a meal and talk about the Blueberry Festival Dance on Saturday. Shortly into this, Miigwan, Ziigwan (Blair Lamora), and Nat (Tasya Teles) show up to tell Dolo (Jonathan-Ismael Diaby), Ted ‘Hitch’ Hitchcock (Terry Ryan), and Brant ‘Goody’ Goodleaf (Andrew Antsanen) that they have made it into the Weird Sudbury party Saturday night.
Nat, Miigwan, and Ziigwan discuss the double booking privately with Shoresy. He tells them that he and Michaels (Ryan McDonell) will go to the dance while Dolo, Hitch, and Goody go to the Weird Sudbury party. This does not set well with the girls and they tell Shoresy that he should talk to the guys. Seconds later, Shoresy is trying to convince the Bulldogs to not go to the party, but this doesn’t go over so well. Despite this, they tell Shoresy that he is good at this and he should coach.
At the last practice, Shoresy and the Bulldogs gather the Blueberry Buddies to discuss what they are going to do at camp. Shoresy also congratulates Jackson for having the guts to go after Marie Mercier. After giving them an inspiring send-off, they tell him that he is good at this and should coach. After the speech, they ask him what he is going to do. He tells them he is going to go where he is needed. Shoresy goes to Nat and tells her that he is putting his love here with the Bulldogs. She hugs him but tells him if he is going to do this, he needs to prove it.
Shoresy goes on the Sudbury Kids Sport Report with Jory Jordan (Maclean Fish) to announce that he going to coach, but he ends up saying nothing as Jory hurls insulting questions at him the whole time. After the interview, Nat asks Shoresy how it feels to know that he is going to coach. He tells her that he feels like the itch has been scratched. She also tells him that she was wrong to harp at them for partying so much because they were doing what they should have been doing- sharing the trophy with the community.
Hitch, Dolo, and Goody get ready for the Weird Sudbury party. While in the stretch limo, they see members of the community and remember drinking out of the cup with them. When they arrive at the door where the party is held, they change their mind and go to the dance instead. They also bring along the cup. Shortly after arriving at the party, they do the routine with Jackson and the Blueberry Buddies. Jackson later asks Marie to dance with him and she says yes.
Liam (Keegan Long) and Cory (Bourke Cazabon) make fun of Shoresy for coaching while he hurls mother insults back at them. This continues for the next several minutes. This is how the episode ends.
Shoresy Review
A good finale to an even better season. It could be that after 4 seasons the show has started to grow on me, which is what a good series should do. That said, I enjoyed everything about the finale. At first, I thought that the creators could have come up with a better ending, but now that I think back on it, the ending was perfect.
What better way to go out than what the show is really built around? It was pretty obvious that Shoresy was going to end up coaching but I liked the way that it played out. I also appreciated the Bulldogs choosing their team and the Blueberry Buddies over the party. An excellent finish to a great season. I’d have to give the episode a 6.2 out of 10.
