Summer In Sudvegas – The episode begins with several of the Bulldogs still celebrating their big win.
Elsewhere, Nat (Tasya Teles) expresses her concerns about the excessive partying and at the same time tries to get Ziigwan (Blair Lamora) and Miigwan (Keilani Elizabeth Rose) to keep the team between the lines during the off-season. Miigwan thinks this will be a tall task because the team is obsessed with getting invited to an ultra-exclusive party called the Weird Sudbury. As for Nat, she says that her job for the summer is making sure Shoresy (Jared Keeso) adapts to life after hockey.
Meanwhile, Shoresy discusses his new role on BRROdude’s new hockey show, 3-on-1 with Anik Archambault (Kim Cloutier) and Emma (Vanessa Matsui). Shoresy doesn’t appear so confident about his role and things only get immensely worse when they do a test run. Shoresy respects the third chair, Dougie Gilmour too much to argue with him. The same thing happens when they bring on Marty McSorley. At the same time, the Bulldogs continue to party. Later that night, Emma and Anik discuss their failure with Shoresy and decide to bring on a guest that Shoresy doesn’t respect, Sean Avery. This works perfectly. Anik can’t manage to get a word in because of the constant arguing.
Anik and Emma later celebrate their win while Shoresy attends the Sudbury Saturday Night. The following day, Nat, Miigwan, and Ziigwan try to convince the Bulldogs to stop their partying by telling them they don’t want to ruin the positive image they built over the past two years. Ted ‘Hitch’ Hitchcock (Terry Ryan) tells her that if she gets them into the Weird Sudbury Party they’ll behave better than they ever have before. She promises to get them into the party if they tone it down in the meantime. Hitch not only agrees but shakes on the deal.
Shoresy and Sean are right back at each other’s throats on the BROdude’s 3-on-1 show. Despite the success, Anik and Emma make plans to get rid of him after that night’s show. Anik and Emma celebrate their victory again but this time they bring Shoresy along. He doesn’t even appear too happy to be there and claims the only reason he is there is because he can’t play hockey anymore.
Sometime later, he tells Nat the same thing and tells her that he is afraid of what might happen if he has a second to sit with the fact that he is never going to play hockey again. She mentions him coaching with Sanguinet (Harlan Blayne Kytwayhat), but he makes it pretty clear he has no interest in that. She asks him what his favorite thing about hockey is and he says winning because he hates losing. She then tells him to think of the show doing well as a win and the show doing badly as a loss. This appears to work for the moment.
Later that night Shoresy visits Laura Mohr (Camille Sullivan) and tells her this is the summer that he closes on her. She tells him that she has to be careful because she has kids. She then gives him the opportunity to go party with the team just to make sure that he is sure. After a bit more back and forth joking about his new look, he asks her if she really thinks some hot/movie star mom is going to come along and tell him that she wants him.
As soon as Shoresy says it, the screen flashes to Jill (Maxim Roy) saying, “I want him.” This is where the episode ends.
Shoresy Review
Not a bad way to kick off season 4 and what I am assuming will be the final season. I never once even thought about a season based around the off-season. I am not sure how long things will stay in the off-season but that was near genius. It was really cool to see the guys outside their element seeing Shoresy with good teeth was like looking at the Mona Lisa for the first time. Either way, the off-season theme should open the door for all kinds of high jinx and I can’t wait to see where they go. I’d have to give the first episode a 6 out of 10.
