At the start of the episode, Thomas (Cillian Murphy) and Polly (Helen McCrory) visit a nun orphanage. They’ve learned that the nuns have been abusing the students. Thomas threatens the women and lets them know that he is not going to be donating to them in the future. Polly threatens them as well before they leave together. Next, Thomas meets up with the gang. He gives out instructions to the gang before telling Arthur (Paul Anderson) and Michael (Finn Cole) that they’re coming with him. Michael explains that he needs to take Gina to the hospital today. Thomas already has that cover. Ada (Sophie Rundle) will handle it. It is explained that one of their most trusted men has been killed by Jimmy McCavern.
They’re going to speak with a man in London who is establishing a relationship with Jimmy. The others continue pestering and harassing Michael. Polly is ordered to go speak with Aberama Gold (Aidan Gillen) in the hospital. Thomas explains that he loves her and he believes she can prevent him from doing something stupid. Arthur and Michael are taken to Tommy’s political office. Before too long, Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin) joins them. He tells them that he knows all about them. He says that Arthur is afraid his wife is never going to return. He also makes a comment about Michael and Gina.
Oswald leaves a note for Thomas before he leaves. Once he is gone, Thomas reads the note and finds out that Mosley wants him to join a new political party. Thomas struggles to calm down Arthur. Thomas tells them about the political party which is supposedly the future. Linda (Kate Phillips) goes to Tommy’s place to speak with Lizzie (Natasha O’Keeffe). Linda explains that she has been visiting the Quakers in Bournville. She has found a man who she likes very much. Lizzie reminds Linda about her past as a prostitute. She says that things can change and she is an example of that. Lizzie explains that you do not get what you deserve. You get what you take.
Polly arrives at the hospital and speaks with Gold. Ada meets up with Gina (Anya Taylor-Joy). After a little back and forth, Gina reluctantly agrees to get a ride from Ada. Ben Younger (Kingsley Ben-Adir) spends time with Ada’s son. He loses a game of chess before the boy tells him that he doesn’t want him as his father. He tells Ben about the students at his school criticizing blacks and Jews. Polly takes Gold home. He gives her a rose for her birthday and tells her that he has one more person left to kill. Then, he is going to be finished. When Polly drives away, Aberama puts together a plan to meet up with the Fury family and go to Scotland for revenge.
Thomas and others go to Ada’s place. Arthur asks about Karl while Ada’s disappearance is explained to Ben. Michael does drugs before Thomas forces him to leave. He tells Ben that he and Arthur are one are the same. Therefore, they can conduct business in front of him. Thomas shows Ben the letter from Mosley. Since he works in intelligence, Ben should be able to do something about it. He insists that his boss is only after communists. Ben says that he doesn’t want to join the family. Thomas tries to put pressure on him to help. He tells Ben to forget about Ada and weddings. He insists that he needs to focus on Mosley. Thomas returns home later that night.
He finds Johnny Dogs (Packy Lee) sleeping with one of his maids. He tells Johnny to team up with Arthur, go to Scotland, and stop Aberama Gold. Polly speaks with Gina about the baby. Gina heard the heartbeat at the hospital and she is adamant that the baby should be born in New York. Later, Tommy meets up with Jessie Eden (Charlie Murphy). He tries to convince her to share a drink with him but she will not. He tries to explain socialism to her using the alcohol. He says that people can change and that includes her people. He suggests that communism and fascism are the same to them. She tells Thomas that fascism is the subject of the rally and she wants Thomas to speak against it.
He cannot speak at the rally because it is not part of the current strategy. When Jessie storms off angrily, Grace (Annabelle Wallis) shows up and tells Thomas that she will break his heart. Then, he returns home to Lizzie. They speak about Linda before they begin talking about their current situation. Lizzie admits she was going to divorce him but didn’t. She agrees to stay with him but she sets some ground rules for their relationship. After they have sex, Thomas calls Arthur. He tells him to go to Scotland but he will not. He wants to know about Linda first. Thomas tells him that she has been hanging out with the Quackers in Bournville.
Lizzie enters and learns that Thomas called Arthur. He explains that he needs Arthur in one piece. Arthur goes to the Quaker place and beats a man before slicing his throat. Then, Arthur gets drunk and tells Charlie Strong (Ned Dennehy) about his upcoming trip to Scotland with Johnny. Curly (Ian Peck) arrives and offers stuff from the BSA. Arthur suggests they need petrol and hand grenades. Charlie tells Arthur he needs to find a way to get Linda back. Without her, Arthur is as good as dead. Next, we jump over to Glasgow. A trap has been set for the Billy Boys. Gold is there with his comrades.
The leader explains that their work is not good enough so they’re going to be replaced. The Billy Boys intend to take their tools and transportation since they’re Gypsies. They’re surprised to see Gold. Gold lets them know that he has the keys. He pulls out a knife and slashes the man across the face. A fight breaks out among the others. He tells the boys that they should take a message back to Jimmy (Brian Gleeson). He tells the crowd that he has a bullet in his gun. That bullet has McCavern’s name carved into it. He pours boiling tar on one of the Billy Boys. Thomas meets up with Thomas alone. It appears that they’re going to go pheasant hunting together.
They speak about Tommy’s time with the army. Then, Oswald says he was in Rome two month ago. Oswald will resign from the labour party before he announces the formation of the new party. He intends to form The British Union of Fascists on January the 1st of next year. Oswald tells Thomas that the 1930s will belong to them. He asks Thomas if he brought that cigar. Before they smoke, Thomas has a few conditions. Oswald says that it isn’t going to be that kind of a relationship. Thomas is told to just smoke like the fine man he will become. Thomas is next shown back at the office. He gets in touch with Ben.

They open the door and the grenades explode. Jimmy is uninjured but some of the others are hurt. Jimmy says that Thomas wants war and he will have it.
Peaky Blinders Review
It is about time. This episode was a step up from the previous episodes. It wasn’t as good as it could have been. Nevertheless, it was leagues above the previous two episodes. We can finally see where things are going. The Peaky Blinders will be going to war against The Billy Boys. Meanwhile, Thomas has decided to become an informant against Oswald Mosley and his fascist agenda. Things should get interesting from here on out and I am grateful for that.
This episode was far better than the previous ones. It scores a 7.5 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Peaky Blinders right now!
