Full Disclosure – Episode 6 begins with a brief look at the 911 call from the night of Jacob Morgan’s (Wyatt Aubrey). After that brief scene, Nate Morgan (Kevin Alves) questions Paul Morgan (Ray Romano) about seeing his father, Mikey Morgan (Denis Leary). Paul sticks with the claim that he hasn’t seen Mikey but Nate clearly doesn’t buy it. Lydia Morgan (Lisa Kudrow) briefly saves the moment when she delivers a cup of her famous cocoa. Nate then notices that both of them are speaking in whispers and asks why. Paul says they are trying this new sleep hygiene that he later also tries to use as an excuse to get rid of Nate. Nate attempts to recall several fond Christmas memories in the house but Paul counters them with an equally bad or worse memory involving Mikey. Before Nate leaves, he receives a notification from a contact at the department that Mikey’s phone last pinged at Elysian Park. Paul ends up accompanying him on the search thanks to Lydia. Paul tasks Lydia with trying to find out where Mikey hid the evidence before he leaves.
Elsewhere, Carla Owens (Teyonah Parris) returns home to find that Dennis Sampson (O-T Fagbenle) has assembled the crib that she’s been trying to get him to put together for months. Her amazement frustrates him and leads to him admitting once again that he hasn’t started his book. He continues rambling on by claiming that he just wants to give her and the baby the life and house they deserve. She tells him that he doesn’t need him to give her anything; she only wants him to be there for her. This leads to him telling her that he is dying.
While Lydia tries to learn more about Mikey’s evidence, Carla and Dennis further discuss his medical diagnosis. Carla doesn’t appear all that concerned and claims it only sounds like he has elevated levels of inflammatory cells rather than a full-blown Sarcoidosis diagnosis. Her concern changes the moment she learns that he has a CT scan scheduled for tomorrow.
At the same time, Lydia becomes concerned about Mikey’s condition and begins busting through the drywall to gain access to him. She finally gets to him to discover that he is only in detox. He tells her that if she wants to help, she’ll get his pills.
JD Campbell (Luke Wilson) isn’t at all happy when he learns that Margo Starling (Linda Cardellini) has offered the Morgans $200,000 over the initial asking price. Despite this, he doesn’t say much but mentions them living in an apartment which clearly makes Margo even more upset. Lydia uses Christmas M&Ms to trick Mikey into sharing the location of the evidence. By the time she shares the location with Paul, he and Nate have been on the ravine for what appears to be several hours. Just as Paul tries to talk him into going home, Nate finds Mikey’s phone. Paul is the first to get to it and although he sabotages it with his fingerprints, the phone is too water-damaged to turn on anyway. As the discussion continues, Paul tricks Nate again by pretending to find Mikey’s apartment keys.
Due to Dennis’s illness, Carla invites Denise Sampson (Anna Maria Horsford) to lunch to squash their beef. Unfortunately, this doesn’t go as planned and only gets worse when Greg Boycleane (Matt Rogers) calls with news about Margo’s offer. Things aren’t going much better for JD when he speaks to his agent, Lenny (Rick Holmes) about his depleting funds and Margo’s outrageous spending. This eventually leads to JD deciding to sell the boat.
Despite her earlier misdirection, Lydia tries to coach Mikey through detox. This leads to a discussion that only makes her feel worse when she learns that his relapse was triggered by his involvement in Jacob’s death. Mikey says that he doesn’t know how she or Paul could even live in the house after what happened. Lydia claims that she doesn’t see how she could ever leave, but she is the only one, even Emily Morgan (Chloe East) wants nothing to do with the house.
While Mikey and Lydia continue to discuss her relationship with Emily and selling her piano, JD goes to check on his boat. Much to his surprise, he not only finds Bobby Barnett (Rory Scovel) living there, but he learns that Margo’s real name is Luann.
Things aren’t going any better for Carla and Denise as they continue to argue about everything from who’s going to pay the bill to why Carla is so secretive. This is all put aside when Carla learns that her water broke. Carla is unable to reach Dennis due to him being at his appointment. Much to Dennis’s surprise, his time with the CT technician gives him some great inspiration for his next book.
When Nate and Paul arrive at Mikey’s apartment to discover that he isn’t there either, Nate assumes the worst. This causes him to later break down and admit that he always wished Paul and Lydia were his parents. Paul only makes matters worse when he tries to convince Nate that Mikey is probably just hiding from someone, he owes money to. This causes Nate to rage out and tell Paul that Mikey promised him $80,000 to help him and his new fiancée buy a home. The discussion doesn’t get much further due to Nate having to leave for work.
With Nate gone, Paul is free to scour the apartment for Mikey’s evidence and that’s exactly what he does. Elsewhere, Lydia is still seeing Mikey through his detox when he comments on what a great mother she is. She tells him that she couldn’t have been that great of a mother if she didn’t know Jacob was stealing. Much to her surprise, Mikey tells Lydia that Paul knew Jacob was stealing before the night he was killed.
Carla freaks out as she and Denise arrive at the emergency clinic. Against Dennis’s wishes, Carla tells Denise about the CT scan and her fears that Dennis will have Sarcoidosis because it is genetic. Much to Carla’s surprise, Denise tells her that Dennis isn’t going to die of Sarcoidosis because Jimmy wasn’t his biological father.
As Paul continues to scour Mikey’s apartment for the evidence, JD confronts Margo/Luann when she returns home. Paul eventually finds the evidence but it isn’t where he told Lydia it would be. Paul returns home with the evidence and a whole new outlook on life when he notices that Mikey has been busted out. His situation only becomes more confusing when he notices Jacob’s light flickering. This is where the episode ends.
No Good Deed Review
Another excellent episode! I love how the twists and turns just keep coming around every corner. I am just about positive that Jacob’s death will end up being something totally lackluster, but I am enjoying the twists up to it. It was obvious that Margo was a dirty bird. However, I never expected she took her deceit as far as faking the death of her brother. Denise’s announcement about Jimmy not being Dennis’s father, what is all that about?
I certainly cannot wait to find out. I’d have to give this episode a 6.1 out of 10. Get more No Good Dead recaps here. Learn more about our advertising packages by clicking the link. See what others are saying about the series here. Support our platform and the Reel Mockery team here.
