The show begins with two boys, Brian (Jared Ager-Foster) and Karl (Connor Beardmore), playing around at the pier. They discover a supposed hobo, before one of the boys is takes a picture of a possible zombie and posts it to his Facebook page. At the morgue, Liv Moore (Rose McIver) and Dr. Ravi (Rahul Kohli) learn about the incident. Liv continues her autopsy on the hit and run victim, before she opens up about hitting on Major. Blaine DeBeers (David Anders) enters and questions why Liv never brought him brains. Liv tells him it is every zombie for their self, before she returns home and watches the news regarding Wally Walker with Peyton (Aly Michalka).
Liv agrees to help Peyton prepare for her examination of the accused murderer. Liv is shown a picture of the victim and she has a vision of his death. Liv heads to the police station and confronts Detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) regarding the upcoming Wally Walker trial. Liv insists that the hit and run victim, Marvin Webster (Robert Hansen), killed Wally Walker. She suggests the murder had something to do with debts. Liv continues to insist Gus Williams is innocent.
Through a narration, Liv confirms she is going to develop a sociopathic personality, because she ate Webster’s brains. When she returns home, Peyton shows her a video of Major with his new fling. Liv remains emotionless. Once Peyton leaves, she browses through Peyton’s file on the Wally Walker case. Afterwards, Ravi and Liv head to the pier to look for the zombie. The pair discover the well and Liv recognizes the zombie, as Marcy (Aliza Vellani). Liv reveals Marcy worked with her at the hospital and invited her to the boat party.
The pair feed Marcy and plan to return later, in hopes of reversing her effects. Liv returns to Clive and continues urging him to work on the Walker case. The pair agree to speak with his bookie, Smitty (Fred Keating), who runs a cop bar. Smitty speaks to the pair. He admits Walker was inside the bar on the night of his death. The pair discover a picture of Marvin Webster, which confirms he was in the bar on the night of Walker’s death. With that, they pay a visit to Mrs. Webster (Marilyn Norry) to look through Webster’s belongings.
Down in the basement, Liv has another vision, in which she gets ran over twice. Clive finds the gun that potentially killed Wally Walker in Webster’s tool chest. Peyton returns home and complains that Liv derailed her career. Of course, Liv doesn’t care. At the morgue, Liv gets a visit from Major (Robert Buckley) and his friend, Jerome (Christopher Meyer), who tells about his missing roommate. Clive takes down information regarding Eddie and a scary man, who started hanging out near Eddie’s skate grounds.
With Liv’s sketch of the vehicle, Clive is able to narrow it down to one car. They speak to the man, who sold his car. The pair interrogate Don Watts (Devon Gummersall), who has a high priced lawyer (Serge Houde). Watts insists he doesn’t know Webster. Despite his lawyer’s urges, Watts sticks around to hear the rest of the story. He attempts to use his celebrity status and Webster’s criminality to keep himself out of jail. Afterwards, Clive says he’s figured out a way to connect the two. They wind up paying a visit to Webster’s vehicle, where they use his GPS system to track his previous locations.
When they arrive at a park, Clive speaks to potential witnesses, while Liv eats more of Webster’s brains, until she sees an ice-cream truck, which provides her with a vision. She sees a garbage man, who could potentially be a witness. Ravi and Liv return to Marcy, but she hasn’t improved. Liv insists they have to kill Marcy. Ravi ends up falling inside, while trying to collect a sample of her blood. Liv jumps inside and kills Marcy. Afterwards, the pair are summoned by Clive.
Clive confronts Watts with the information from the witness. Peyton enters and tells Clive that someone is there. Watts looks outside and sees someone in a garbage man’s outfit, which changes his tune. Peyton offers Watts a deal and Clive encourages him to sign a confession, which he does. As it turns out, Ravi was wearing the outfit and pretending to be the witness. Afterwards, Liv considers eating the rest of Webster’s brain, but tosses it out. She delivers a letter to Marcy’s mom providing her with Marcy’s necklace. When she returns home, she watches Major’s video and sobs. Peyton comforts her.
Meanwhile, Jerome continues looking for his friend, when he runs into Blaine, who tells him Eddie is a few blocks down at a house party. The pair head there together.
Review
Another pretty good episode of iZombie. It is difficult to say that the show is great, but it is definitely good. Much of the show’s success should be credited to Rose McIver and her portrayal of Liv. There is something about the combination that makes the show charming, a little funny and sometimes somewhat bleak. The episode likely deserves a 7 out of 10 and is worth a watch.
