Elsewhere, Voss (Angus Sampson) informs Ant (Brodie Townsend) and Spider (Bryn Chapman Parish) that Woodsy unfairly dismissed him and they will speak out against the “woke agenda” at the formal. Spider’s eyes follow Missy (Sherry Lee Watson) but she never turns to look at him. Malakai informs Woodsy that he is leaving with his mum and goodbyes are not his thing. She warns him against leaving things unsaid between him and his friends.
Looking at a paper with derogatory remarks against Amerie, Quinni asks if she knows about it. Sasha claims to have not shown it to anyone but her. Quinni suggests it is not the work of Bird Psycho and questions who is upset with Amerie. Sasha urges her to find out. Elsewhere, Malakai tells Amerie bye. Later, he writes her a letter and stuffs it into her locker.
Sasha and Quinni have worked out that Rowan may be responsible for the defamatory sketch. Elsewhere, Rowan anxiously waits for Amerie. Taking the microphone, Spider admits to messing up but refuses to make excuses for his actions. He vows to start doing better when a girl announces Ned Kellys on the Oval. The students race toward the exit leaving Missy and Spider alone. Outside, Voss rants about males having their opportunities stripped away. Woodsy urges the students to go back inside and threatens to call the police if the Cum Lords do not disperse. Voss starts a fire that creates a penis and testicles on the ground. Heartbreak High Series 2 Review
The finale was the best episode of the season. The show is temporarily transformed into a true teen drama, not the typical comedy-style series. It misses the mark by not addressing real adolescent issues. It was actually nice to see Quinni’s mental disorder brought forward from season one. Unfortunately, it wasn’t thoroughly addressed.
The series could have been meaningful and helpful for teens suffering from low self-esteem, substance abuse, pregnancy, peer pressure, bullying, and other common problems. Sadly, someone thought it best to sexualize the cast instead.
The show could end at this point as there was closure on most everything except for Amerie and Malakai. In my own opinion, they are better off without each other.
The finale deserves a 6.5 out of 10. Get more Heartbreak High recaps here. Support Reel Mockery by donating. Learn how advertising with us can help bring awareness to your brand. Join our newly established forum to discuss new and classic films, celebrity happenings, sports, and more.
