Gangs Of London Series 3 Episode 6 Recap

The episode opens seven years earlier, with Naomi (Evelyn Miller) working at her desk when Samuel (Aryel Tsoto) screams. She quickly ascends the stairs to his room where he is hiding under a blanket. He says Night Man is in the garden. She rips his drawing out of a notebook, looks out the window, pulls the drapes shut, and suggests he had a dream. She vows to keep him safe. He asks where his father, Elliot Carter (Sope Dirisu) is. She says working and professes to love him. He pleads with her to have another look. She looks out the window to see someone wearing all black but tells him nothing is out there. Armed with a knife, she ventures outside. Johnny Galloway (Victor Alli) steps out of the shadows. She reminds him that he was told not to come there. He complains about being followed. She asks if he is taking his meds and urges him to stick with the plan because she needs that intel. As he drives away, a car with Jack O’Doherty (Emmett J Scanlan) pulls in behind him. At an abandoned building, a hooded Elliot is restrained to a metal railing. He gets to his feet and kicks the structure. Elsewhere, Saba (Jahz Elsayed), Faz (Fady Elsayed), Ed Dumani (Lucian Msamati), and Shannon Dumani (Pippa Bennett-Warner) have had no luck finding Elliot. Utilizing a gun, Saba breaks out a window and reaches her hand inside to unlock the door. They search the house to find it empty, with kegs stacked to the ceiling. Ed expresses regret for trusting Elliot.

Zeek (Andrew Koji) sits on a swing outside a vacant building. Inside, Elliot screams for help. Zeek finishes his milk, tosses the bottle on the ground, enters the building, punches Elliot, and orders him to be quiet. Elliot is slumped over the railing. In a voicemail, Zeek informs someone that Elliot is with him. At the airport, Asif Afridi (Asif Raza Mir) and Ayesha (Rina Mahoney) are being escorted by armed men. Asif orders his men to transport Ayesha and Lale’s (Narges Rashidi) infant son to the Belgravia House. He receives a voicemail. Elsewhere, Faz opens the kegs to find coke hidden inside. Ed orders Saba to take the drugs to the factory and Faz to round up a search party. He says Elliot is to be killed. Stressed, Shannon curses and asks Ed if it is necessary to kill him. He says yes. She kisses his cheek and heads to her car when Saba approaches. She proclaims Elliot’s innocence and insists someone else spiked his cocaine.  Shannon says he betrayed them and whatever happens is on him. In a discrete location, Ed tells Asif that Elliot has been dealt with. At the abandoned building, Zeek tells Shannon that he followed her orders. She orders him to kill Elliot. Elsewhere, Ed gives Asif an envelope and says none of this would have been possible without him. Referring to him as an “old friend, Asif expresses his appreciation for allowing him to join his effort. They plan to meet in two days.

Billy Wallace (Brian Vernel) is looking out the window when he imagines Sean Wallace (Joe Cole) saying he needs him. He has a flashback of Sean asking him to watch his back. Later, Billy and Cornelius Quinn (Richard Dormer) visit Marian Wallace (Michelle Fairley). She informs them that Ed is claiming Elliot was behind the cocaine spiking and has disappeared. She orders them to arrange a search party to find Luan Dushaj (Orli Shuka). After they leave, she tells Liam (Tim McDonnell) to make sure Billy doesn’t let Elliot go like the last time. At the abandoned building, Elliot breaks free. Shannon stresses the need to kill Elliot because he got too close to the truth. She says to dump his body where it will be found, so everyone knows he is dead. She promises to see that he is paid well so he can disappear. Zeek denies having done it for the money and refuses to leave. She warns that Elliot has been showing his picture around and saying he killed Naomi and Samuel. He asks how long she knew. She says just recently. Zeek finds Elliot missing. Utilizing a nail, Elliot cuts the duct tape binding his wrists. Shannon sees him and draws her gun. He jerks the nail out of the wall. She shoots him. He stabs the nail through her shoe. She falls to the ground and her gun skids across the floor. She gets up and takes off running. He grabs the gun, fires aimlessly, and removes his hood. She hides on the upper floor. Zeek finds the spent bullets. Shannon flees in her car. Elliot runs into Zeek. A struggle ensues. Zeek’s gun repeatedly discharges. Utilizing a piece of wood with nails, Elliot hits him several times. The struggle continues. Elliot repeatedly hits him with an object, presses it against his throat, and asks why he killed his family. Zeek grabs a piece of glass and stabs him with it. They continue to fight. Zeek knocks him down, grabs a wire, and wraps it around his neck. Elliot elbows him and the floor collapses. Outside, Zeek strangles Elliot with the swing chain before releasing him. He claims someone paid him and denies having known Samuel was in the car. Elliot curses him. Zeek decides not to kill him and insists he never forget it.

Faz finds himself surrounded by Billy, Cornelius, and Liam. Elsewhere, Simone Thearle (T’Nia Miller) takes a hit of what appears to be cocaine. Henry Amiel (Sebastian Armesto) arrives and informs her that the Prime Minister has agreed to meet with them tomorrow. She stresses the need to keep their plan to legalize drugs quiet and quickly. He says she needs to convince the PM to support their plan. She questions why Elliot hasn’t contacted them yet. He suggests it would be better for him to disappear. Elsewhere, Cornelius cuts lines of cocaine. Billy warns that some of the lines are tainted with fentanyl and urges him to choose wisely. Faz stares at them. Cornelius pins him against the car. Faz denies knowing where Elliot is. Billy threatens to blow his head off if he doesn’t choose a line. Faz snorts a line. Billy forces him to snort another line. Driving down the road, Shannon notifies Ed that Elliot got free and may have seen her. He stresses the need to get her and Danny Dumani (Taye Matthew) somewhere safe. Ed leaves Zeek a voicemail demanding to know what happened with Elliot. Elsewhere, Henry helps Simone prepare for her meeting with the PM. Upon leaving, he suggests naming their policy Jermaine’s Law in honor of her brother. She reluctantly agrees. He vows to always be there for her.

Upon arriving home, Shannon takes off her boot to examine her injured foot. She hides her foot to keep Danny from seeing it. She asks him to pack before Ed arrives. Elsewhere, Henry ignores a call from Simone as Asif approaches and shakes his hand. Asif says he was Nasir Afridi’s (Parth Takerar) good friend and now his. He claims he and Ed support his legalization of drugs. Henry asks if he can fulfill his obligations per their arrangement. Asif says yes. Elsewhere, Faz pleads with Billy and promises to join his gang. Liam draws his gun and threatens to shoot him. Billy orders Liam to release him. Sobbing, Faz thanks him. Billy retrieves an automatic rifle from his car and opens fire on him. Later, Billy, Liam, and Cornelius arrive at Marian’s. Billy tells her that Elliot is still missing, he killed Faz and vows to kill a member of every gang until they have Elliot.

Shannon puts a dressing on her foot wound and finishes packing her bags. Elliot arrives. She opens the door and he falls into her arms. She helps him to a chair and pulls his arm out of his sweater. He grunts in pain. She opens a drawer of knives, grabs a towel, and shuts it back. Applying pressure to the gunshot wound, she says the clean coke was discovered at his father’s house. He claims the man who was at the scene when Naomi and Samuel were killed framed him. He says a woman was involved as well. He tells her the man released him. She claims to believe him and leaves to retrieve a first-aid kit. He sees her bloody shoe underneath a table. Shannon retrieves an automatic rifle from the safe. Danny sees her with the gun. She orders him to go to his room and returns find Elliot gone. An injured Elliot is hobbling down the sidewalk when Saba pulls up and warns him if he doesn’t go with her now, he will be killed. He reluctantly gets in the car. Shannon fires several shots at them as they drive past her house.

 

Gangs Of London Review

Ed and Shannon hire Zeek to frame and kill Elliot to keep their secret safe. Zeek tells Elliot that he was hired to cause the crash but he had no idea Samuel was in the car. Shannon shows up where Elliot is being held hostage. When he breaks his restraints, she tries to kill him. He stabs a nail through her foot. She insists Zeek leave London after he kills Elliot. Zeek refuses to leave and lets Elliot go. She notifies Ed who insists on taking her and Danny somewhere safe. Unaware of her involvement, Elliot goes to her for help. While she is gone to get a gun, he sees her bloody shoe and leaves. Saba picks him up. Shannon shoots at them as they pass her house.

Marian orders Billy and Cornelius to find Elliot. She sends Liam along to ensure Billy doesn’t let him go again. They question Faz about Elliot’s whereabouts. When he can’t tell them, Billy shoots him and vows to take out a member of every gang until they have Elliot.

Henry and Simone prepare to pitch their plan to legalize drugs to the PM. A former friend of Nazir, Henry is in cahoots with Asif who is working with Ed. The episode deserves a 5.8 out of 10.
