The 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards are scheduled to take place on June the 17th at 9 PM Eastern. The event will be held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Earlier this month, MTV revealed the categories and nominees for the upcoming awards event, which will be hosted by Zachary Levi. The biggest winners of the nominations were RBG, Game of Thrones, and Avengers: Endgame.
These works lead the nominations with four apiece. MTV will also be introducing several new categories this year. They include Reality Royalty, Most Meme-able Moment, and Best Real-Life Hero. MTV has attempted to nominate the best performances regardless of platform, genre or gender. RBG has been nominated in several categories, including Best Documentary, Most Meme-able Moment and Real-Life Hero.
The final season of Game of Thrones has also been awarded four nominations. The HBO show will compete for Best Show and Best Fight. Maisie Williams has been nominated for Best Hero and Emilia Clarke for Best Performance in a Show. Finally, Avengers: Endgame has collected four nominations. Its nominations include Best Movie and Best Fight. Robert Downey Jr. will vie for Best Hero and Josh Brolin for Best Villain.
