The Zanis – The episode opens with Manticore Agent Diana Cavalieri (Matilda De Angelis) restrained in the back of a moving vehicle. Ettore Zani (Mauizio Lombardi) tells Edo Zani (Lorenzo Cervasio) that he thought he was smarter than him. Edo asks about Diana. Ettore says she can no longer cause problems where she is at. Edo suggests he sent them to Sicily to see if they were conspiring against him. Ettore claims Manticore Agent Rainer Weber (Maxim Mehmet) had already told them everything and he forced him to become their prey. Restrained, Diana comes to and tries to kick open the door. Ettore boasts of his success in obtaining the French half and German half of the weapon. Edo warns him that the French half is a fake because Cecile Martin (Julia Piaton) intended Wolfgang Klein (Bernhard Schultz) to build the weapon. Ettore asks when he planned to tell him. Edo says it was his plan that discovered it. At a prison, Manticore Agent Giada (Jun Ichiawa) removes Diana’s blindfold before she enters a facility. Diana panics when she sees the agent (Valeria Cavaliere) who killed Enrico Zani (Carlo Sciaccaluga) staring at a wall. Edo accuses Ettore of lying to him and the other families about Manticore’s goals, sending Enrico to die, and keeping the Citadel technology for himself. Ettore asks if he just now mustered the courage to tell him how he feels about him. Edo assures him that he always had the courage, not his attention. Ettore removes him from Manticore.
Under Giada’s supervision, Diana’s lenses are deactivated. Diana warns her that it is a mistake. As Giada starts to walk away, Diana grabs her arm and how long have they known each other. Giada asks how long had she known Manticore Agent Luca (Marouane Zotti). Diana denies killing Luca. Giada says she doesn’t deserve anything before walking away. Julia Zani (Thekla Reuten) claims she never approved of Ettore’s plan to trap Edo and Diana. She is disappointed in him, plotting with a Manticore agent. He says Diana is the bravest agent and if she doesn’t stop Ettore from killing her, she is no better than him. She informs him of Diana being interrogated.
8 Years Earlier – Edo and Cecile share a passionate kiss. Marianne Martin (Silvia Cohen) permits Cecile to attend her meeting with Ettore and Klein. Edo isn’t allowed to attend. Back in the present, Edo is denied access to the agency. Utilizing what appears to be a fingernail scanner, he gains access to where Diana is being detained. He warns her that Ettore knows what happened in Lugano and he is no longer with Manticore. He developed the security system. She asks him to help her escape. He assures her that Ettore will not kill her because he wants to get the German half of the weapon. She says they will interrogate and eliminate her before informing him that the agent who killed Enrico is in a nearby cell. He claims Ettore said he was dead. Later, Edo and Matteo (Daniele Paoloni) argue about obeying orders when Ettore arrives. Edo confronts Ettore about his brother’s killer being alive. Ettore calls him a hypocrite because his weapons are utilized to kill. He suggests it made him feel better and the agent deserved it. Locking the door to keep Ettore from leaving, Edo stresses the need to get the French half of the weapon. Ettore says since they are decimated, he should start a war. Edo insists he speaks with Diana about her idea and warns that it’s his last chance to reclaim the power he lost. Ettore says she will be executed before leaving.
8 Years Earlier – Ettore emerges from the meeting and tells Edo that it went well. Edo reminds him that he was supposed to present the project. Klein is intrigued with Edo’s proposal. Marianne compliments Edo and calls him brilliant. Cecile informs Edo that Marianne wants her involved in Manticore because she is extremely ill. She ends their relationship. He says they can figure it out together. She reminds him that he isn’t an heir but claims to care about him before walking away. Later, Edo informs Enrico about Cecile breaking up with him. He insists she is too young to rule alongside Ettore and Klein. Enrico says if they married, it would create an imbalance between the agencies and urges him to think of Manticore. A news report about the Duomo explosion grabs their attention. Edo asks if they are responsible. Ettore says they want to ruin Citadel and the explosion is a diversion for an impending global attack. Upset, Edo argues that hundreds were killed. Julia assures him that it was necessary. Enrico tells them that he is in charge of today’s attack. Shocked, Julia voices concern about his safety. Ettore expresses the need for the heir to prove himself. Enrico kisses her hand. Edo cannot convince him to change his mind.
Diana confesses and asks to be turned over to Manticore France. Ettore asks why. She says it would give her access to the French half of the weapon and then, he might feel differently about her. She would do it like a Trojan horse. Over breakfast, Ettore tells Julia about Edo having a master key. She asks if he is disappointed Edo didn’t tell him or because he is more capable than he thought. He says an opportunity has arisen that would allow them to return to power. The Trojan horse would allow Edo inside. He warns that Edo’s extremely powerful biometric technology only works on him. She assures him that Edo will not risk his life for Manticore. Later in the Swiss Alps, Ettore confronts Cecile and Klein about how they have been working together behind his back. Refusing to return both halves of the weapon, Ettore suggests they put it all behind them. Klein and Cecile demand to know what he is up to. Ettore demands equal power for Manticore Italy and they return to the ideas from 13 years ago. Klein readily and Cecile hesitantly accepts. At the prison, Giada enters Diana’s cell. Back in the Alps, Ettore tells Klein that the French half is fake and claims Cecile planned to cheat him. Klein is shocked. Diana is thrown into the back of a vehicle. The envoy leaves the prison.
Ettore tells Edo that he agreed to hand over the French and German halves of the weapon and Diana to Cecile. Edo agrees to go and utilize his biometric technology to get the French half of the weapon. Ettore says his plan is to utilize the weapon to control, not destroy the world.
8 Years Earlier – Ettore, Julia, and Edo break down when they learn of Enrico’s death. They go to the morgue to see his body. Julia kisses his forehead. Ettore asks Matteo who killed him. Back in the present, Matteo and Edo arrive at a warehouse where Giada and Diana are waiting. Edo asks to speak with Diana alone. He tells her to stay alive in Paris as the episode ends.

Ettore lies to Edo about his promise to return both halves of the weapon to Cecile. He makes a deal with Diana that would put her in a position to get the real French half. Edo only agreed to go along with it because Ettore vowed to not utilize the weapon to destroy the world. Ettore promises Julia that Edo will not be involved but he wants Edo to utilize his biometric technology to help Diana access the real French half.
The series is missing elements that could make it better. The most important element, suspense, has been there from the beginning. It drives the audience to continue watching, even though, the story isn’t terrific. On a good note, the script is more informative than the original script. The episode deserves a 5.4 out of 10.
