She imagines it is 2:45am when the phone rings. It is Chloe who asks if she can keep a secret. She stars out of the ocean as the episode comes to an end.
Chloe Review
By the end of the episode, I felt like pulling out my hair. The show presents every trickery in the book. How many times can one person be so lucky?
Are people this delusional? The characters didn’t think twice before letting Becky into their lives. They opened their doors, a psychopath waltzed in.
At times, the show portrays Becky as a psychopath, other times, she is someone who desperately wants to find out what happened to her best friend. She is also seen as someone who just wants to fit in. Which is it?
There is still time for improvement as Becky forces her way into Chloe’s life. The episode deserves a 6.5. Get more Chloe recaps here. Support ReelMockery by clicking the link.

Finally got around to watching the first two episodes and I’d disagree just a bit with your initial reaction to the first two episodes. I was quite engaged throughout and found the show quite captivating . At first we are led to think that this is a Talented Mr. Ripley thing but it appears Becky is going deep undercover to solve the mystery of Chloe’s suicide … or murder.
She is a little crazy tho. Probably has to do with the death of the real Sasha, which I think we’ll find Becks is at least partly responsible for.
A few tidbits. I immediately recognized Chloe as Barbie from Stay Close. At first I thought it was set in Blackpool as well but they quickly established it is Bristol. The Smiths “There is a Light That Never Goes Out” has always been one of my favorites. I’ve seen Morrissey perform it live… at two different venues. I think Jack Farthing is wasted here. I hate his character. Just a brooding, angry rich as hell millennial. Should have been cast as Josh.
Cant wait to watch eps 3 and 4. I’ll check in at 4.
Cheers
I actually started enjoying it in the next episode. Agree about Farthing unfortunately. Could’ve done so much more with that. I’ve come to respect Billy Howle too after The Serpent which I really enjoyed.
Recognized Poppy right away. It seems like these actors/actresses get a few big roles right in a roll. This and Stay Close were released pretty recently so she has been busy.
That is neat about Morrissey. Lucky! I’ll leave you to it and won’t spoil it for you lol. Enjoy finishing it 🙂
