Samuel and Janet prepare to leave for the hospital when Camilla Wells (Michele Austin) and Anya Wells (Cherie Gordon) arrive home. Sending Anya to her room, Camilla questions if Samuel is having an affair with Sally. Samuel denies cheating on her. Janet urges him to tell Camilla everything. He tells Camilla that Sally is his former client with a gambling addiction. He claims Sally came there asking for more money after she gambled away what he previously loaned her. Janet validates his story before leaving for the hospital.

She assures him that whatever the problem, it is not his fault. Back at the hospital, Janet tries to convince Doctor Weathers (Joseph Kennedy) to get her access to the ICU. Reminding her of the “dick pics,” he says his wife wants a divorce. Pretending to be interested in him, she takes his ID tag. When he tries to kiss her, she calls him a “randy bas**rd”. He invites her out for a drink but she declines before jumping out of his vehicle. Inside, she utilizes Weathers’ keycard to access the ICU. She is standing next to The Tailor’s bed when an ICU nurse (Misha Duncan-Barry) confronts her. The nurse assures her that he will pull through. Outside, Janet calls Samuel to update him on The Tailor’s condition.

When Guy arrives home, his wife (Diane Beck) asks him to take out the trash, feed Kenny, and fix the TV. His kids barely acknowledge him.

The Shang Emperor –  Samuel warns of what will happen if The Tailor is permitted to live. He assures Janet that it will be over after they kill The Tailor. She questions if she can go through with it. He reminds her of all the murdered cops. She assures him that Camilla will eventually find out about his gambling addiction and the cocaine. Ben Tooh (Ethan Lawrence) watches as they pull out of the parking lot. He retrieves their receipts from the waiter. At the police station, Ben learns their identities.

She warns that it would take too long to kill him. He contemplates suffocating The Tailor with a pillow. She says they will have to live with it for the rest of their lives. Elsewhere, Guy watches Isabelle making pottery out of clay.

Driving down the road, Samuel decides that he no longer wants to be a vain man. He tosses his mannequin head out the window. Elsewhere, Ben visits Janet’s apartment to speak with Peter Jeffries (Craig Kelly). Peter tells him that he and Janet split and she no longer lives there. He denies any association with Janet’s criminal activities. He claims she recently had a lot of cash in her possession.

Aireside General Hospital – While Guy attends a pottery class, Janet and Samuel are in the ICU. Samuel prepares to place a pillow over The Tailor’s face when he opens his eyes. The Tailor warns that he will claw at Samuel’s skin while he tries to suffocate him. Pat enters the room happy to see The Tailor away. Once alone, The Tailor tells them that Pat saw their faces before vowing to find and kill them when he improves. Rushing out of the hospital, Samuel says their only open is to run. Janet reminds him of Camilla and Anya. He tells her that he will come clean to Camilla about everything. At the pottery class, Guy ignores an incoming call from The Tailor. He struggles to keep the ball of clay on the pottery wheel. Isabella assures him that not every enthusiast will be a potter. Guy calls The Tailor to apologize for not being there but vows to be there for him from now on. The Tailor confesses to being in love.

Frantic, Samuel tells Camilla about the cocaine and killings. He admits to being a compulsive gambler. He warns that The Tailor is coming for them before rushing upstairs to pack. Camilla refuses to go until he explains what is going on.

Demanding Anya to stay in the car, Samuel escorts Camilla to the shipyard where the shootout took place. The area is spotless. Turning around to see Anya, he locks them in a shipping container. While driving down the road, he ignores a call from Camilla. Elsewhere, Guy attends a music event. Janet rushes through the door calling Alan’s name. A call from Guy reveals that Alan is with him. A frantic Janet pleads with him to not hurt Alan. He demands she go to her apartment. When the call ends, she calls Samuel.

The Tailor leaves the hospital against medical advice. Elsewhere, Ben tells Superintendent Hodgson (Nigel Betts) that he has identified the killers. Hodgson refuses to give him a team until he gives him evidence. Frustrated, Ben leaves the police station.

Janet tries to convince Samuel to go with her to meet Guy. Samuel assures her that they are all going to die. Elsewhere, Pat searches the French newspaper clipping. She learns that Alain and Michel Beausejour appeared in a controversial film, “Les Enfants”. The film follows Pierre, a Tailor, struggling to keep his business afloat. Pierre, Alain, and Michel are involved in a collision. Madame Bethune saves them. Ben arrives boasting of solving the murders. Pat gives him a word of encouragement before he leaves to find Janet and Samuel.

Guy compliments Alan’s musical skills. Alan admits to loving music because it is him. Hearing a car outside, Guy forces him into a room and orders him to stay quiet. Armed, he waits for Ben to enter. Ben explains how he caught Samuel and Janet. Guy tells him about failing at pottery after dreaming about it for so long. Ben assures him that he can do it but Guy disagrees. He pulls out his baton. A shot is fired.

In a flashback, young Benoit is lying in the road, with a crashed vehicle nearby. Madame Bethune advises him to not move. He asks about his brother and father. She says the ambulance is on its way. Benoit (Charlie Hamblett) explains what he felt when he met Madame Bethune for the first time. She says he should be enjoying his life instead of tending to a woman old enough to be his grandmother. He assures her that age is only a number. Back to the present, Pat is abducted as the episode ends.

Boat Story Review

The plot is interesting enough but the execution fails in so many ways. The bits of seriousness are overshadowed by off-the-wall action lines and dialogue. The major effort put into making the series is obvious but it cannot make up for the dull-witted jokes and action.

The actors do a great job bringing their characters to life. However, it seems at times that they too are confused about what to do or say.

The episode deserves a 5.8. get more Boat Story recaps here. Support Reel Mockery by donating. Our onsite advertising is a great way to build brand awareness, speak to a member of our staff by clicking here. Join our Newly established forum to discuss the latest shows and movies.
