Back To Life Finale Recap

back to life finale billy and miri

At the beginning of the episode, we see Miri (Daisy Haggard) in jail and we hear a weather forecast. Back at home, Oscar (Richard Durden) and Caroline (Geraldine James) find out that someone has thrown trash in their yard. They’ve also tied a life-size doll that looks like Miri to their tree. Miri receives a visit from Janice (Jo Martin) who doesn’t help her very much. Miri learns that the community will be holding a meeting to speak about her presence in the city. Oscar and Caroline clean up the mess and agree to keep the Miri doll.

Oscar picks up a newspaper and learns that Miri has been linked to another death. Miri is released thanks to Samuel (Frank Feys). She meets up with him at the cemetery a short time later. Samuel believes that he knows why Lara (Imogen Gurney) was angry the night she was killed. She suspects that Miri was having sex with Mr. Boback but Miri denies it. Miri encourages Samuel to get a real job before leaving him and returning home. She tells her parents that someone called the police and told them that she did something bad.

Miri and Caroline decide to head to the store so they can pick up supplies to make a cake for Oscar. When Miri steps outside, she finds Billy (Adeel Akhtar) staring at his truck that has been vandalized. He doesn’t understand the graffiti since he never slept with Miri. He tells her that he would never be unfaithful and he suggests that they stop hanging out. At the store, Miri runs into Dom (Jamie Michie). She tells him that she is never going to sleep with him. Their relationship is on the mend before Miri finds out that Dom was having an affair with Caroline.

Miri lashes out at her mother before storming out of the store. She goes to the community meeting and finds Mandy (Christine Bottomley) on stage. During the meeting, Nathan (Liam Williams) tells everyone that he set fire to his trailer. Oscar comes clean about his STD and Caroline speaks about her sexual relationship with Dom. Eventually, Miri comments about her supposed relationship with Mr. Boback and this sends Mandy off stage. Miri tracks her down in the bathroom but Mandy has shut the door and won’t let her in. She agrees to send out messages using toilet paper.

During their conversation, Miri finds out that Mandy was sleeping with Mr. Boback. Lara found out that one of them was sleeping with her dad. Mandy lied and said it was Miri because she didn’t want Lara to hate her. Miri gets angry, bangs on the door, and tells Mandy that she is going to kill her. After that, she goes to the spot where Lara was pushed over the cliff and apologizes. We jump forward and see Mandy sitting on the beach. Billy arrives with two ice creams. He admits that he has changed his attitude and wants to hang out with her now.

Miri tells him everything she has learned. He suggests that Lara would know the truth now. Miri says that she would like to start her life but she doesn’t feel like she is allowed. Billy tells her that this is her life. He says that Miri’s life is happening right now. They hold hands and embrace as the episode comes to an end.

Back To Life Review

I’ve enjoyed every episode of Back to Life. Again, I am not the biggest fan of the humor. At times, I felt that the jokes were slightly lame and ineffective. Other times, I laughed along with it. Nevertheless, I stuck with the show for the depressing story. I am glad I did. I felt that the finale was well done. It covered everything and revealed the truth about the murder.

I am not sure we’re going to get a second season. I would watch it but I think the show ended perfectly. Miri can move forward with her life now. I like the finale. I would watch another season if they do happen to make one. The finale scores a sold 7.5 out of 10. Catch up with our past recaps of Back to Life before you leave!

    1. You know I am not actually sure if it clarifies this or not. Has been a while since I watched this show and I know it does reveal somethings. As for the graffiti specifically, I am not 100% positive.
