90 Day Fiance – The Other Way Review
Kenny and Armando are not new to the show. Kenny is the more ambitious partner while Armando is happy living in a small town. The couple appears to have a normal, happy life. To keep the story going, TLC needs to create some drama. Armando wants a baby, Kenny not so much. Kenny wants to live in a big city, Armando not so much.
Brandan and Mary are an uptight couple with major insecurities. While the couple supposedly video chat 24/7, Mary claims to be a volunteer, top dancer, model, and college student. Brandan pressured her to give up everything, including her male friends. What he doesn’t know is she spends time with them when he is asleep. Brandan appears to be the more honest partner. In the intro, the show portrayed Angela and Brandan’s relationship as nonexistent. Near the end of the episode, it is revealed, she is sober and very open to rebuilding their relationship. Angela, Kailey, and Jayden blame Mary for driving a wedge between them.
Holly, a two-time divorcee, is in a long-distance relationship with business owner, Wayne. She is moving to Johannesburg to start a new life with him. However, she is apprehensive about the rolling blackouts and growing crime wave. He is none too thrilled about her mother living at his place for three months.
Julio is madly in love with Dutch human resources worker, Kirsten. He plans to move to the Netherlands to get away from America. His mother is hurt by his decision to conceal their relationship. He, being her only child, is understandable.
It is questionable how much of the show is real. Julio and Kirsten’s relationship is probably more advanced than the show is letting on. Mary is probably withholding secrets from Brandan. Her emotions feel disingenuous. Brandan’s RV is probably fake.
