Hart Of Dixie Cancelled? Yes, According to Show’s Creator

Hart of Dixie Cancellation

The Hart of Dixie, which premiered on September 26, 2011, is saying goodbye, after it finishes its forth season at the end of March. Rachel Bilson is likely the most memorable cast member and stars at Dr. Zoe Hart, who leaves New York behind, after a failed stint as a heart surgeon. After she finds work as a general practitioner in Bluebell, Alabama, she runs into all sorts of crazy characters and develops many romances.

Sadly for fans of the show, it never really caught on, with the first season being awarded mixed reviews. The current running season barely pulls in one million viewers per episode, which is certainly the overall reasoning behind the cancellation. With shows like The Flash and Arrow drawing in significantly more viewers, it is easy to justify the cancellation.

With the new series, iZombie, the CW will look to replace their Southern drama, with yet another comic book adaptation. So far, the series has received much better reviews than that of Hart of Dixie and will likely smash the show’s ratings. It is clear from this news that the CW, which is co-owned by CBS and Warner Brothers Entertainment, is looking to establish itself as one of the leading broadcast television networks. It is difficult to deny that the network has come a long way, since its September 2006 introduction to American audiences. It will definitely be interesting to see what the channel can pull off in terms of new content.

Unfortunately, fans of Zoe Hart will have to continue watching the series on Netflix and Hulu.
