Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) enters the prison, with Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan) looking on. We’re introduced to a new villain, Zaardon (David Fierro). He is drugged and sent out into the street with a few weapons. Gordon, who is now working as a traffic cop, quickly encounters him and a sword fight ensues. Gordon quickly overcome Zaardon and takes him into custody. Gordon is given a grim warning, before he runs into Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), who insists he has never been better.

After Gordon departs, we see that Nygma is now speaking to his evil, imaginary self. Gordon is ridiculed by Commissioner Loeb (Peter Scolari), who attempts to immediately fire him. Sarah Essen (Zabryna Guevara) tries to cover for him, but fails. Gordon threatens to break the Commissioner, before he exits. Zaardon is shown exhaling smoke in the jail cell. Back at home, Leslie comforts Gordon and insists the firing might be for the best. Jerome speaks to Barbara at the prison. He learns about her crime and tells her about the millionaire, Richard Sionis (Todd Stashwick). Barbara blows him off and gets a friend of her own in Aaron Helzinger (Stink Fisher).

Back at Wayne Manor, Bruce attempts to convince Alfred to build a bomb to blow the door open. Bruce concludes that he is building the bomb, without or without Alfred. Essen is promoted and Gordon receives his position back. Gordon quickly learns about the Gotham Asylum and Barbara’s escape. Theo and his sister, Tabitha, line up the villains and tells them about his plans. He suggests that they all work together as a team.

Richard Sionis attempts to refuse the offer and offers up money. It fails and Tabitha kills him. Meanwhile, Alfred sets the bomb and Bruce blows it up. With the door open, they explore the hidden room. They discover a computer and a letter written to Bruce. Bruce reads the letter from his father and learns about his father’s concerns for the family business. It also speaks about his true calling and the episode ends.

Gotham Review

Overall, the episode was decent, although it felt a little too long. At times, it seems like the show has too many unneeded characters. Oswald and Victor working together is great and the few minutes we saw Nygma were interesting. A decent episode, which deserves a 6.5 out of 10.
